About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my Counselling Profile. My aim is to help you achieve a better outcome for you regardless of the problem you have. I am a member of the BACP (The Regulatory body for counselling) I am also a member of The EMDR Association (the regulatory body for EMDR therapists). EMDR is an evidenced based therapy that can treat PTSD and complex PTSD as well as many other issues. I have considerable experience of one to one working for complex bereavement and loss. Issues I can help with include depression, anxiety and Trauma (such as events experienced that are still affecting you). I have supported emergency service staff as well as military veterans. I work in a person centred way so try and help you the client to heal yourself by exploring your problems in a sensible non-judgemental way. I work within the expectations you have of counselling, I can use time limited short term solution focused therapy or longer term counselling to help you deal with on-going life issues. I am competent to help clients who have complex needs and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) to heal deep seated problematic behaviours which occur at no fault of your own and can manifest themselves following PTSD or complex PTSD diagnoses. I am trained to use the EMDR Flash Technique this is a simple treatment that reduces anxiety quickly, see flashtechnique.comThe first contact with me would be to find if I am the right counsellor for you, if I’m not I will help you find the right person for you and won’t charge you for this.
