About me and my therapy practice
I am currently offering Zoom or telephone counselling.
Sometimes we all need someone to talk to, life can become overwhelming, confusing, or distressing for all of us. At difficult times in our lives sometimes talking to friends or family just isn't enough and an impartial, objective ear can be just what is needed.
As a counsellor I can offer that objective ear, warmth, understanding, and will truly listen without judgement to enable you to speak openly about what is happening in your life. I will allow you the time, space and confidentiality to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and to examine what you want to change, if anything.
Most importantly, I know that everybody is different, and treat each person as an individual. This means I will tailor the therapy to suit you, using my knowledge and skills of different therapeutic techniques, to ensure it matches what you are wanting to gain from it. During therapy you may discover techniques and tools that will work for you, that you will be able to use long after the therapy has finished. I truly believe that you are the expert on you, and my role is to be alongside you in your process, and to not impose my own. Working therapeutically in this way can bring about the changes that will enable you to lead a more fulfilling life.
I have often heard client's describe the way they were feeling when they first came to therapy was as if they were in a fog, or as if their thoughts were all tangled like a ball of wool. I will enable you to slowly untangle that ball of wool, or blow that fog away so that your life feels a little bit clearer.

My first session
Past clients have commented that my way of working helps them to feel accepted, understood and respected. This helps to build a relationship where clients can be honest and open about their issues and supports a depth of work where long lasting change can be found. I greatly believe that this depth of relationship is one of the most important elements to facilitate change for you. This is why I believe it is important for clients to have an initial introductory session to enable them to see whether I am someone they will feel comfortable working with. To enable you to help make your decision whether I am the right therapist for you I offer an initial 30 minute introductory session for £20.
