About me and my therapy practice
I know looking for a therapist and starting counselling can feel daunting. I offer a friendly, welcoming and non-judgmental space where we can talk and explore your thoughts and feelings together.
Therapy can help to make sense of things and move towards self acceptance and change. I will support you to gain a better understanding of how past experiences or worry about the future may be impacting you in the present.
I have experience working with a wide range of issues including:
•anxiety - social anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, health anxiety
•low self-esteem
•low-confidence
•low mood
• relationships
• OCD
•negative self-talk and inner critics
• depression
• feeling stuck
• change
• work/career issues
• increasing self-compassion
• body image
•abortion
• fertility
• miscarriage
• family issues
This list is not exhaustive and its possible that none of the issues feel like they fit for you. I would welcome you to still get in touch to have a chat and decide if we can work together.
I offer the option of introducing mindfulness exercises into sessions. This can help to reduce symptoms of anxiety, ruminating thoughts, overwhelm and other difficult feelings.
Practice description
I offer sessions on a weekly basis both online via Zoom and in person. Where possible they will be on the same day and time each week.
I offer long or short term therapy depending on individual needs. As everybody is different I am flexible in the way that I work.
My first session
I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is very important. Therefore I offer a free online 30 minute introductory session, or if you prefer to meet in person I charge £15 to cover the cost of the room.
Introductory sessions are an opportunity for us to meet, for you to ask any questions you have, and for me to find out a bit more about you and what you are looking for from counselling. Then we can decide together whether I am the right counsellor for you at the moment.
