About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Tracy at Roots of Change and I work with adults, students and young people aged 11 and above. I am based in a Wellbeing Centre close to Leeds Beckett University in Headingley.
My goal as a counsellor is not to fix you because you are not broken. I will support you on your therapeutic journey to explore past wounds, see yourself clearly, strengthen your resources and embrace your uniqueness.
Life is full of challenges, throwing unexpected situations in our path. At certain times we may feel able to deal with these challenges and at other times we may be left feeling overwhelmed, alone and stuck. The consequences of such situations could manifest in you feeling stressed, anxious or depressed.
Adults/Students
I have a proven track record helping clients overcome relationship issues, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, bullying, self-harm and suicidal ideation. I also offer the Rewind Technique for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), single or multiple event traumas and phobias.
I have a specialist interest in bereavement and loss, offering clients a safe space to explore and process grief in a way that is right for them. I support clients on their unique journey towards healing, to whatever their new normal looks like.
Young People (11+)
I work with young people aged 11-17 and can help with friendship and relationship difficulties, managing emotions, parental divorce or separation, anxiety, low mood, self-harm, suicidal ideation, issues at school, bullying, body image, life transitions, bereavement and loss.
Therapy can give young people a sense of self-worth and help create resilience and coping strategies for their life ahead.
I have worked with young people for a few years in various settings including schools, a counselling agency and in private practice.
For more information on how I work with young people, check out my website.
Sessions are available only face to face for young people.
Practice description
I provide a professional counselling service in Headingley, Leeds. I offer a safe space to talk by creating an atmosphere that is open and without judgement. This therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for change for both adults and young people.
I'm professionally qualified to Post Graduate level and registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). As a member I am bound by their professional Code of Practice and Ethical Framework.
I am passionate about the benefits of therapy and am committed to enhancing the lives of others. A long time ago counselling enhanced my life and led me to where I am today. You can read more about this on my website.
Counselling provides a safe space to work through issues, allowing the space to find your own answers in a nurturing environment. This can be done through talking or using a variety of creative methods to suit.
Accessing counselling can help you to rewrite your story and build the life you want. What are you waiting for?
Tracy 😊
