Working through life's challenges together...

Hello, and welcome,

Thank you for considering me as your therapist. I am Elizabeth, an experienced integrative psychotherapist, supervisor, couple therapist and group facilitator.

My approach to therapy is relational, as I believe building a good relationship with the people I work with is a critical ingredient for good therapy outcomes. I will always work with you from a genuine and warm place and at a pace that suits you.

I pride myself on offering you a personalised approach to therapy that puts your needs first. I will support you at a comfortable pace to ensure you achieve your desired goal.

Finding the right therapist can be challenging. That's why I provide an initial 10-minute call that acts like a chemistry meeting. You can ask questions to gain clarity and understanding of my approach and how I work to determine if working together is right for you.

If you're interested in scheduling a consultation, please get in touch with me on: 07456 016686

About me and my therapy practice

Couples Therapy in Bloomsbury

In Bloomsbury, I specialise in working with couples, facilitating psychotherapy through a model I developed called 'Creating a Culture of Appreciation'. This flexible, structured approach typically involves six sessions over three months, meeting fortnightly.

For couples facing more complex issues, we may extend our work to a 20-session model, allowing us to delve deeper into the challenges affecting your relationship.

How to Begin

Step 1: Initial Call

We’ll start with a brief 10-minute call, where you can share your concerns, and I’ll outline how I work. At the end of the call—or after you’ve had time to discuss it together—you can decide whether to proceed.

Step 2: Booking

Once booked, you’ll receive a welcome email containing all the details you’ll need, including in-depth assessment forms. These forms are an essential part of my process, allowing me to thoroughly understand your relationship before we meet.

Step 3: Preparing for Your Consultation

Before our first session, I’ll review your assessment forms to gain insight into who you are, how you view your relationship, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This preparation ensures our initial consultation is focused and productive, creating a foundation for meaningful work.

The Therapy Process

In therapy, we’ll explore your relationship foundations and dynamics, uncovering both the strengths and challenges. Early sessions focus on gathering information about your past, understanding how it shapes your present, and setting clear goals for therapy.

For couples, I use my model 'Creating a Culture of Appreciation', which integrates research from other professionals and my research with established studies. The model is designed to address issues such as:

Communication difficulties

Conflict resolution

Infidelity

Domestic abuse and more

Practice description

Working through life's challenges together...

Hello, and welcome,

My name is Elizabeth, and I am an experienced integrative psychotherapist, supervisor, and group facilitator. I work in partnership with Relational Counselling Ltd, a practice dedicated to empowering individuals and couples looking for the right therapist.

As a qualified Integrative Counsellor and psychotherapist, my approach to therapy is Relational. I believe building a good relationship is the critical ingredient for good therapy outcomes. I will always work with you from a genuine and warm place and at a pace that suits you.

I pride myself on offering a personalised approach to therapy that puts your needs first. I'm here to support you and help you achieve your goals in a way that feels comfortable and right for you.

Finding the right therapist can be challenging. That's why my initial consultation is like a chemistry meeting. You can ask questions and gain a sense of how I work to determine if working together is right for you.

Cost-effective individual therapy

If you are new to therapy or seeking a more cost-effective method for individual therapy, you could try a one-to-one 30-minute appointment to gain more clarity or have shorter appointments. These appointments serve as either an introduction to therapy or merely aim to help you enter therapy with a cost-effective option, so you can access the support you need.

Self-management portal

When you feel ready to start, we have a self-management booking portal on the website for your convenience. It's simple to use: register and select a time/date. If you are not 'tech savvy', don't worry; I am happy to schedule for you.

The user-friendly self-booking system allows you to access and book without even making a phone call. Free SMS and email reminders are included for your convenience.

Availability

Weekdays between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

If you're interested in scheduling a consultation, please visit www.relationalcounselling.co.uk or call 0800 001 6919.

About me and my therapy practice

I facilitate both long-term (psychotherapy) and short-term therapy (counselling) for individuals and couples. Before your initial consultation, I conduct a thorough assessment to gain an overview of who you are, learn a bit about your past, and understand your goal from therapy.

Individuals are initially offered a consultation, followed by six sessions during which we schedule a review. At this point, you can continue the work longer or have a planned ending. My open-door policy means you are always welcome to return when we close our work together.

The early relationships you form significantly impact how you relate to yourself and others, often without you realising it. Some of these patterns are helpful, while others can be harmful. Addressing deep-rooted reasons that impact your life today in therapy can help you better understand yourself and learn to manage life's challenges. By gaining insight from your past, you can improve your relationship with yourself, which I believe is the most important relationship you will ever have.

With couples, I use a model I developed myself based on research carried out by trusted professionals within the field and my research working with couples.

I am experienced in supporting couples with various issues, such as communication, conflict, infidelity, domestic abuse, and more.

Please note:

Couple therapy Fees in Bloomsbury, London, are £210 for initial consultation and thereafter £190.

An Overview of Counselling and Psychotherapy

The process is generally more goal-focused when working short-term (counselling), and for longer-term therapy (psychotherapy), it is more in-depth. The process examines the root causes of an individual's presenting issues by exploring the unconscious drivers learnt from past experiences and relationships.

I aim to offer as much flexibility as possible when scheduling appointments from Monday to Friday. Please visit our website and register through the portal to book your initial session. The initial meeting serves as a chemistry meeting and will enable us to determine if we are a good fit to work together. Through the portal, you can manage all your bookings and payments.

About me and my therapy practice

I work relationally and believe that building a strong working relationship is crucial. It is important to work collaboratively and openly, challenging any areas that need growth."My core approach is Clarkson, and I work integratively."

Together, we will explore the client's work, including the counter-transferential feelings to gain deeper insights into your client's world. Additionally, we will work towards understanding your own triggers and emotions when facilitating therapy. I believe that having a good level of self-awareness is equally important within supervision and that we should not be complacent in knowing ourselves.

I work with YP and adults, individuals and couples supporting transitions with a variety of issues, including anxiety, bereavement (including complicated grief), depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, self-esteem, domestic abuse, Childhood abuse, trauma, relationship issues, and stress.

I integrate various schools of theory and techniques and support supervisees in looking deeper into the unconscious mind, transferential patterns of relating, and working holistically for the best possible outcomes within clinical work.

I believe that working together and sharing openly, in a non-judgmental space creates professional growth and allows supervisees to feel supported.

We work together with a professional agreement and adhere to follow the principles and guidelines of the BACP.

We review supervision twice yearly to ensure your needs are met.

Practice description

I mainly work from home and I am available for supervision sessions online, over the phone, or in person. Online supervision can be just as effective and convenient, especially for those who live far away and prefer to have sessions in the comfort of their own homes.

I understand that some people feel more comfortable with in-person supervision, and I'm more than happy to make that happen in my cosy home environment. Before we meet, I need you to provide some basic information which is merely part of best practice. For everyone's safety and security, there are CCTV cameras on the property. And of course, we continue to follow COVID guidelines to make sure we all take precautionary measures to stay healthy.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!

My first session

Our first meeting will be to discuss the working agreement together and make introductions. I must gain an understanding of you and your work, including your past experiences of supervision and vice versa. This will assist me in supporting you in the way you best need during your supervision.

You will have time to discuss a client(s) to gain more insight into my work.
