About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Abbey, a BACP Accredited Integrative Therapist. I am a friendly, optimistic, and open-minded individual offering you a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic space. I am skilled at supporting others in their own personal development, whatever challenges or exploration they are facing and facilitating change. I believe that we all intuitively know what is right and wrong for us, but due to the pressure that sometimes accompanies modern life we can become cut off from this inner knowledge and our own intuition. The therapy I offer is practical and collaborative, whether we are working 1-2-1 or in a group. My aim is to share my skills and knowledge so that you feel fully resourced, able to make conscious choices, and live intentionally.

My approach is centred around you; supporting you to explore your specific needs within your own context. I welcome all aspects of you as an individual, incorporating any spiritual or religious beliefs, and inclusive of all sexual orientations and genders. The aim being to equip you with the self-awareness and resources to be able to make conscious choices, facilitate change and live intentionally.

Practice description

As an Integrative Counsellor I incorporate elements of Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural and Transactional Analysis therapeutic models. This means I tailor the therapeutic process to fit you and your individual needs. My understanding of human beings is that to be truly connected to our intuition, we must also be connected to our body. Using the latest developments in neuroscience to explore this connection, my aim in therapy is to support you until you feel fully resourced within yourself.

I offer 1-2-1 therapy sessions face to face or online via Zoom. Alternatively, please see my website for upcoming group workshops and therapeutic retreats. If your not sure which would best suit your needs, please get in touch and I will be happy to discuss these options further.

My first session

My assessment process involves either, a free 25 minute initial consultation. Or if you think you would benefit from more time, a 50 minute initial consultation for a fee of £30.00. Consultations are conducted online via zoom or face to face. This is an opportunity for you to establish if I sound like somebody you would like to work with, and for me to establish if I have the correct skill set to meet your needs.

Beyond this, our first session will be used to establish what you want to achieve in therapy. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I encourage you to consider this prior to our first meeting. In our first session we will set clear and specific goals for our work. I find investing this time at the beginning, sets us up for a more beneficial therapeutic process overall.

There is also a small amount of paperwork we will complete, a necessity at the beginning of any therapeutic relationship.

Types of therapy

Behavioural, CBT, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Relational, Transactional analysis

Clients I work with

Adults, Groups, Organisations

How I deliver therapy

Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work
