About me and my therapy practice
I understand that choosing to access therapy can be a daunting process but I am friendly and approachable and will work hard to ensure you feel welcome, safe and able to discuss any problem you may be experiencing with confidentiality. I work with clients face to face from my office in the city centre, on the telephone or online, whichever you prefer.
*If contacting me via mobile, please text only. I will reply as soon as possible.
I am a qualified, Person-Centred Counsellor and am passionate about the benefit talking therapies can bring to anyone in distress. My own experience of therapy in the past has enabled me to flourish and in turn inspired me to train to become a Counsellor myself. I work from therapy rooms in Manchester city centre at Piccadilly House.
I have worked as a horticultural therapist within the NHS, local councils, charities and schools for over 12 years. I have helped people from diverse backgrounds and different age groups with countless different presenting issues, including; serious, enduring and complex mental health issues along with many others. This experience has enabled me to empathise and engage with people in distress and develop my therapeutic expertise. I have also worked as a Counsellor for Trafford Carers Centre, as well as Macmillan Wellbeing Centre, part of Pennine Care NHS Trust, working with people dealing with cancer, bereavement, life limiting and terminal illness.
Using a holistic approach, I work with you as a whole, not only focusing on particular issues but exploring any underlying causes. I am responsive to your needs and will work with you as an individual to untangle your thoughts and experiences. Talking to a qualified professional can help you find insight, clarity and a greater understanding of life’s challenges. Together we will be able to find strategies to enable you to cope better and move forward. I work with men and women over the age of 18 from all backgrounds.
