About me and my therapy practice
I am Liz Bunting, UKCP Accredited Child Psychotherapist, Registered Member with BACP and EAGALA Certified Practitioner.
I have extensive experience of over 12 years specialising in adolescence, helping many young people between the ages of 12-21 who are struggling with stress, depression, extreme anxiety, low mood, anger, low self esteem, low confidence, relationships, identity, friendships, self harm, suicidal thoughts, decision making, motivation, effective communication, transitions such as high school, college or University, understanding/setting & maintaining safe and appropriate boundaries, self awareness, trust, resilience, exclusion from school, identity and friendships, feeling angry or numb or lost and vulnerable feeling like there is nowhere to turn. I provide a comfortable, safe and confidential therapeutic space for teenagers to explore and express themselves and their troubles in a consistent and emotionally safe place, for all young people between the ages of 12-21.
My therapeutic approach is Integrative which means I draw from different theories and select the most useful and relevant to suit each individual’s personal need and preferred way of working. This often begins developing a therapeutic relationship to understand and work through some of the issues; it will also often include interventions using metaphor – depending on the goals and interests of each individual client this may involve using Sandtray, clay and working with indoor with Aurora a therapy dog or outdoor with Aurora and Zeus (AAP) Animal Assisted Psychotherapy.
