About me and my therapy practice
Most of us feel like we need extra support at one point or another in our lives. We might be feeling adrift or unable to navigate life’s obstacles or we might feel incapable of verbalising what is getting in the way of leading a joyful life. We may sense that we need to make a change but we don’t know where to start.
Talking to friends or family might feel uncomfortable or even impossible, which can leave us feeling lonely and hopeless that we can feel happy again. My role is to provide you with a safe space where, together, we can make sense of your thoughts and feelings and enable you to make positive and lasting change.
I am a BACP registered psychodynamic counsellor / psychotherapist, with experience of working with adults and young adults in the charity and private sector. I provide a serene environment that encourages creative thinking. My warm approach appreciates and values individuality and diversity, focusing on understanding you as a complete person.
Practice description
Deciding to make contact with a therapist can feel daunting, however please know that your enquiry will be received with warmth and understanding. You can contact me by phone or email, after which we can agree a time to have a more in-depth conversation where you can ask any questions you may have about therapy or about my practice.
I have two counselling practices, one in King's Cross, a short walk from both King's Cross and St. Pancras stations, and the other in the City, very close to Bank and Monument stations.
My first session
Before our comprehensive assessment session, I offer a complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation, providing an opportunity to address any questions you may have about my practice.
The assessment session, lasting one hour, is an occasion for me to gather a brief history, discuss your challenges, and understand the changes you aspire to make. Life often presents us with a multitude of challenges—understanding past experiences, navigating current situations, and planning for the future, all concurrently.
For you, the first session serves as an introduction to how therapy can support this multifaceted process. Whether you come with a list of questions or simply as you are, both approaches are equally valued. By the end of our initial time together, my aim is for you to discern whether you would like to continue our therapeutic journey.
Subsequent sessions, each lasting 50 minutes, will be scheduled for a set day and time weekly.
