About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! I am an experienced integrative counsellor working with adults and young people (16 plus) offering a confidential and compassionate space to explore, amongst other issues:
Stress/Anxiety
Bereavement
Depression
Relationship problems
Low Self Esteem
Workplace Stress/Redundancy
I have previously worked as a Student Counsellor at the University of Southampton and Peter Symonds 6th Form College as well as a Bereavement Counsellor at St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke.
Life is a journey with ups and downs and unexpected events; at times it may be helpful to navigate these with support.
It’s not always easy to talk to your partner, family or friends about your thoughts and feelings. You may be worried about the effect that sharing these would have on them - or they themselves may be part of the problem.
Whatever challenges you face, be it relationship issues, work place stress, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, trauma, or just a general feeling of being 'stuck' in your life, I offer a safe, non-judgemental, empathic and confidential space where you can say how you really feel.
In a gently challenging but highly supportive and compassionate way, I can help you explore and identify what is important to you, what troubles you and what changes you may like to make which are right for you. Taking the first step in seeking help can be difficult, especially if you have never had counselling before. It is important to find the right counsellor for you – someone you can relate to, who you feel comfortable and safe talking to, who you trust and who understands you.
Together we can identify your issues so you can make the changes which feel right for you, to create a more meaningful and purposeful life and develop more fulfilling relationships.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Practice description
Having had some initial communication by phone or email, we will meet for an 'in person' hour long assessment, after which it is your choice as to whether you decide to continue with counselling.
If you do decide to continue, I suggest we meet weekly to explore your current issues and how your past may have contributed to your present situation. As an integrative, humanistic counsellor, each session will be tailored specifically to you, what you bring, and what may be useful at any given moment such as potentially working with values, attachment theory or in a creative capacity to find, explore and release the root cause of the problem, freeing you of held emotions and enabling you to move on more peacefully with your life.
You can find further information on how I work on my website.

My first session
I encourage all initial Assessments (First Sessions) to be 'in person' at my counselling rooms in central Winchester.
The Assessment is charged at the same rate as general 'in person' sessions. This first session may last slightly longer than subsequent sessions since I will ask some questions to get a sense of who you are, as well as giving you time to tell me what brings you to counselling and what you would like to explore and achieve during our time together.
We'll agree on an outcome or goal, so that our work always has a focus. It's up to you how much detail you go into in our first session, as well as future sessions. All sessions are client led, so we will also go at your own pace.
After the initial Assessment, you can choose whether you would like to as continue with weekly 'in person' counselling sessions - or move to telephone or online sessions.
Some clients choose a combination of all three to fit with their work, university or home life commitments.
I can also offer 'walk and talk' therapy as an alternative to traditional 'in person' therapy within a counselling room.
