About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling lost? Do you feel just 'not quite right' but don't know why? Are you finding things are getting too much for you but can't see a way through? Have you been coping but something has changed and now it all seems too difficult to manage? Maybe you've had a big life change and it has suddenly overwhelmed you?
When life gets hard we can experience all sorts of different emotions - sometimes many all together and sometimes nothing at all.
Please be assured that there is a way through it and you don't have to tackle it all on your own. Your 'stuff', however big or small it may seem, is important and through therapy you can start to move forward.
The counselling space, where you have time just for you, to share your thoughts and where you might be able to explore how you feel and get a different perspective, can be a transformational process. It might seem like an impossible task but talking things through, offloading without judgement, can open up new possibilities.
I have an interest in what might bring men into counselling and I also have lived experience of supporting people with, or whose family members have, ADHD - either a formal diagnosis or who might be at various stages of exploring this.
Experience
I have a wide range of experience across many different areas. I have worked in secondary schools as a counsellor and in student support at a University. I was an HR Manager in large corporations using my coaching skills. I have also worked in children's services supporting parents and the voluntary sector working with victims of domestic abuse.
My private practice involves working with adults, young adults and young people/adolescents.
Qualifications
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
CMI Level 5 Certificate in Coaching
Additional: PG Diploma in Human Resource Management, Level 4 Diploma in Working with Parents, BA (Hons) degree
Practice description
I work online, transferring from face to face since March 2020.
My clients like the flexibility and availability of counselling online finding a confidential space at home or in the car or sometimes outside in quiet park.
How I Work
In listening to you my aim is to build your trust so that you feel able to talk about what you want to address. I don't try and make you talk - you discuss things you feel are appropriate for you. We work together, at your pace, looking at your experiences and any issues that may arise. I use my experience and training to help you in the process.
My first session
You may feel a bit daunted by getting started and unsure how it all works. So, I offer an initial free short session for us to meet and for you to get a feel for how I work and how the counselling process could help you.
If you contact me I will respond by email as soon as I can (usually within 48 hours). We can then arrange a first short session and after this there is no obligation for you to begin counselling with me. If I feel I can't help you or if you feel I'm not the right person for you we can discuss if I am able to suggest another counsellor who you could contact.

ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Business coaching, Career coaching, Child related issues, Depression, Development coaching, Executive coaching, Health related issues, Identity issues, Leadership coaching, Life coaching, Loss, Men's issues, Personal development, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
