Hello, if you are looking at my listing then it probably means that you are needing support. It takes courage to reach out when we need it. You may be seeking help for a variety of reasons, big and small. Having space to talk about what is happening and space to say what we need ......is absolutely the start of feeling better.
You may be seeking therapy for many reasons, you maybe anxious or stressed, feeling you have difficulties in relationships, and challenges in your life that you need help with.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a Senior Accredited BACP counsellor (SCoPEd C) and a UKCP registered psychotherapist. My approach to supervision is founded on an integrative transpersonal model.
Supervision provides a place for active collaboration and transformation. In this work, both in therapy and in supervision, we can enable a dynamic space for exploration, restoration and life long learning.
I have a Certificate in Supervision from a UKCP accredited training provider ReVision, London. And I also have 20 years experience supervising clinicians and students in health professions. I also have 25 years experience teaching in Universities, also in healthcare. For supervision this brings skills in teaching, mentoring, ethical approach and evaluation of practice.
Supervision always occurs in a relational context; that of the supervisor, therapist and client, all three are interconnected.
3 main functions of supervision can be described in a nutshell ( Proctor 2018) as:
Normative; appropriate, ethical and professional working, in the contest of relevant codes of ethics and professional practice and any organisations considerations and contracts.
Formative; includes all theory, skills and professional development.
Restorative: supporting any anxiety and difficulties in response to and evoked by the clients material.
I work from my therapy practice in Leamington Spa and I offer supervision to both fully qualified counsellors and counselling trainees.
Practice description
I have a busy private practice working with individuals and couples, student therapists and supervisees.
I offer sessions both in person and online.
My aim is to work both collaboratively and phenomenologically with you. Working at depth is important and I provide a reflective learning space and supervision environment that enables enquiry. openess to learning, attention to our human differences and diversity, whilst sustaining an ethical exploration.
The work is informed by our supervision standards including clear boundaries, contract, reviews and safeguarding.
We will look at transference, parallel process dynamics including what is and what is not said, and that which is at edge of awareness that maybe influencing the therapeutic relationship.
There may be value in us reflecting on the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professional periodically. My aim is that, in the supervisory relationship, we can be ourselves, and accept more of ourselves so that we can free up processes and our Self as a whole.
Supervision can have elements of mentoring, training, support and counselling. It is an appreciative enquiry.
I have particular ongoing interest in:
Somatic approaches to therapy; that tap into body unconcious, where we store memories and missing links that when connected to can both restore and bring understanding to our therapeutic process.
The transpersonal approach: that accesses images and the imaginal, metaphor, myth and dreams, and soul, in the therapeutic process.
My first session
If you are interested in the possibility of working together, please do make contact and we can set up a zoom call together.
I offer a free 30 minute zoom call to explore your needs and how i might be a best fit for you. We can discuss practicalities and whether you are in need of 60 or 90 minute sessions per month or want to split across two.
I would suggest we review our work together every 6 months ( BACP ethical commitment to supervision 2018).
We will have a contractual mutual agreement adhered to from the start of our work together. I am happy for us to work either on line or in person or a mixture of both.
You can also check my website for further information regarding my background and the way I work in my own therapy practice.
