About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Zena and I offer you a warm welcome.

Is there something on your mind that is bothering you that you would like to talk about? Are things feeling a bit too much? Perhaps you are feeling alone with your problems.

You can talk to me about it in private. I am here, ready to listen to you.

I offer in person, face to face sessions. A non-judgmental, confidential, compassionate, trusting, empathic space for you to talk, and for us to work together through any issues you bring. I will not tell you what to do.

I believe in the importance of a supportive environment where you can feel heard and valued. You are at the centre of our therapeutic work, and I value your personal experiences, thoughts, hopes and fears.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist helps with growth and healing. Building a trusting relationship, where you can feel safe to share what you want.

My experience includes, but is not limited to, working with people in these areas: abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, health-related issues, loss, relationship problems, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, and work-related concerns.

My background is in healthcare and this has contributed to me having an in depth understanding, insight and compassion for working with a diverse range of people, who are often in distress or maybe going through a difficult time in their lives.

 I am passionate about helping others and using counselling to improve people’s lives.

I have a friendly down-to-earth approach; a good sense of humour and I do understand that everyone will progress at their own pace.

I work using a person-centred, humanistic approach, and when required can use some emotion focused therapy.

Practice description

Each session lasts 1 hour

The focus of our session is determined by what you feel is most important, and my role is to help you explore whatever is on your mind and support you to perhaps see things differently, understand your feelings, make some changes, in the hope that you can find solutions to your issues.

By exploring your thoughts and feelings we will find a way to navigate life’s challenges and difficulties. I will help look at your needs in a sensitive and empathic way at a pace that makes you feel comfortable.

I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office in regard to compliance with data protection.
