About me and my therapy practice
My purpose as a Psychotherapist is to bring self-awareness to the patient of their emotional issues, behaviours and their way of connecting with themselves and the world. My work consists of walking with the patient through the discoveries, experiences and emotions, from the present and past, in the here and now, aiming for self-awareness and searching for a healthier way of living.
My goal is to give a non-judgmental, comprehensive and safe environment for my patients, building a trustful therapist-patient relationship.
I believe that empathy is the most important key for a successful work between patient and therapist and I can assert that I have a considerable capacity of putting myself in others shoes, empathizing and feeling together with my patients. Also, I am a warm and supportive therapist.
I have more than 19 years of experience as a psychotherapist, working with adults, couples and families with a range of issues. I see clients in Streatham, London and Online, via Skype, Facetime and Zoom. I worked and volunteered for 1.5 years at the Multi-ethnic Counselling Service in Waterloo Community Centre, were I used to see NHS/IAPT patients.
I am fully qualified, registered and insured to practice psychotherapy in the UK. I am a member of BACP (MBACP). I have trained in Gestalt-therapy, Systemic Therapy and EMDR, but I also use some techniques from different approaches. I see clients in English and Portuguese.
