About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for taking the time to read my description.
The hardest thing about working with a new psychologist is finding the right one, sending that e-mail and then attending the first session. I know, I have been there too!
I pride myself on making you feel as welcome and relaxed as possible. After all, how can you get the best out of the sessions if you are not comfortable? As a result, I have created a comfortable, welcoming and relaxing space where we can work together on issues you'd like to present.
I work in a mental health hospital with patients who have been sectioned under the mental health act.
In my previous role, I worked as a staff psychotherapist/counsellor supporting staff who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
I work with clients privately and have a fully up-to-date enhanced DBS. I am also fully insured.
I am a HCPC Registered and chartered Counselling Psychologist.
I am also accredited with the BABCP to deliver CBT. I am a qualified person-centred therapist, trained to deliver EMDR and DBT. I use many different tools to work with what you wish to explore.
I have extensive experience in leadership and management, and coaching, especially in the education sector, as I was once a senior leader and SENDCO in a high school.
I am quite open when it comes to my neurodiversity. I have ADHD and am dyslexic. However, I do not see this as a hindrance; it's part of who I am ;-)
My main method of counselling is Person-Centred; however, I use a range of therapeutic techniques, such as CBT, to support the client that I am working with.
If you have any further questions, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
Stephen
PLEASE NOTE - I RESPOND QUICKER TO E-MAILS THAN LEAVING ME A TELEPHONE MESSAGE!

I am an HCPC registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist. I consider myself an integrative therapist who works to the needs of the client.
I worked in education for 15 years teaching psychology and becoming an assistant principal (SENCO) before leaving education to work in the mental health sector.

I have supervised trainees and qualified therapists in a range of modalities and have worked with numerous training providers.
