About me and my therapy practice
I have many years of experience of working with young people and adults of all ages who either currently - or in the past - have experienced distressing, challenging situations and life events. I have a wide range of personal and professional experience which I bring to my practice as we work together towards your hoped for outcomes.
I am interested in how our past - and present - life experiences impact on us in the 'here and now' and influence how we feel, behave and interact in all aspects of our lives.
I am endlessly curious about people and have always enjoyed working with individuals who want to think about the issues that are impacting on them.
You won’t be judged or criticised - my aim is to accept you as you are. My hope is that as you can try and understand yourself more fully so you become more aware of what you need and want in your life going forward.
Practice description
My aim is to offer a safe and welcoming space where I accept you as you are and encourage you to explore your own unique life experiences, learn more about yourself and what you want and need in your life. I know how hard it can be to open up and talk about how you feel - my intention is to provide a space where that feels possible for you.I have a wide range of experience working with adults of all ages who are facing challenging situations and issues, often with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. My aim is to work in a way and at a pace that feels right for you as the unique individual that you are.
My first session
I offer an initial session where we can meet and find out a little about how we might work together. I would try to answer any questions and talk over any concerns that you may have. We would then decide together how to go forward.
Following that if we decide we would like to work together we would usually meet weekly for 50 minute sessions. We will regularly review how we are working together and whether the 'fit' still feels right.
