About me and my therapy practice
If you're reading this, I am guessing that there is something that's getting in the way of how you'd like to live your life and with how you are coping.
So, if you are keeping things bottled up and feeling like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, if you feel like everything is getting to you at the moment and you feel like you just don’t know what to do, counselling can help you.
My name is Christina and I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist using a psychodynamic and relational approach to therapy.
I can help you understand what’s troubling you and how your past may be affecting your present life. I offer a non-judgmental space where you can start to talk about your troubles and feel better - always at your own pace.
You can have the opportunity to explore our innermost thoughts and those parts of ourselves that you have needed to keep hidden in order to function in your life.
One final thought - Seeking a therapist can be daunting and could feel like a weakness; but it’s not a sign that you are not strong enough to get through this on your own.
Asking for help does not make you a failure. Quite the opposite; walking into a room and asking for help from a stranger is brave and courageous.
It’s a sign that you've recognised that you need help, that you are vulnerable and you are willing to share it with someone else.

Practice description
I am fully qualified as a Psychodynamic Counsellor (Advanced Diploma) by The Counselling Foundation and I am also qualified as a Skills Practitioner for Eating Disorders by the National Centre for Eating Disorders.
My first session
The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to talk freely about what brought you to me, along with any goals you want to achieve, and questions you might have about the therapy process.
This initial consultation is also an opportunity for you to experience what I’m like and how I work. Over the course of the consultation, I will explain more about my way of working, as well as practicalities on confidentiality, fees, cancellations and appointment times.
If we agree to work together, we'll then work out for how many sessions you’d like to meet– it may be just a few sessions or on an open-ended basis.
It helps to work out a time-frame together from the outset, but nothing is set in stone, and we can always review as we go along. If working online is the only practical option for you, I’m happy to meet this way too. I use Zoom as my online platform, which I am happy to discuss.
The initial meeting will last 50 minutes and it costs £70 and subsequent weekly sessions also cost £70.
