About me and my therapy practice

Do you suffer with anxiety, depression, guilt or shame?

Do you feel isolated because of a breakdown in family relationships, separation or divorce, betrayal by friends or estrangement from community?

Do you need to recover from the impact of domestic abuse?

Are you suffering from post traumatic stress/post traumatic stress disorder?

Perhaps major life changes have left you feeling lost, stuck, confused, distressed and ashamed?

I am experienced in working with those who are distressed due to displacement, loss, trauma and abuse as well as adults who have suffered bereavement be it through death, divorce or broken relationships. Many of my counselling clients have suffered with anxiety and depression brought about by different difficulties in their lives, while others have struggled with symptoms of PTS/PTSD.

I am also experienced in working with clients who struggle with the strangulating effects of guilt and shame, as well as isolation, displacement, cultural issues, faith, diversity and a crisis of identity.

In addition to working 1:1, I also work with couples and adult family members whose relationship is in crisis or those wanting to enhance the quality of their relationship.

In our sessions, you will feel seen and heard because we would work in ways that suit your preferences.

If you would like to also work on practical goals such as life or career choices, as a qualified personal and professional development coach, I am well placed to work with you there too.

Practice description

My way of working is a trauma-informed person-centred approach integrated with pluralistic principles, psychodynamic concepts and psychoeducation.

I work holistically and relationally with the whole person - a humanistic model that facilitates growth.

I believe each person has the resources within themselves to grow and resolve their difficulties, given the right environment so I work collaboratively with clients to work through their difficult issues by providing the appropriate environment.

My first session

The next step would be to arrange an initial session.

This initial session (which is a full paid-for session) doubles as an assessment session

Here we'd discuss where you're at, what you’d like to get out of therapy and by the end of our time together, we'd hopefully get a sense as to whether we feel we are a good fit to work together.

You can contact me to arrange a mutually convenient appointment and fees.

At the end of that first session, you can decide whether or not you want to continue the work with me and how frequently. Or you could take some time to think about it and come back to me.

If you need clarification of anything, please feel free to ask. Every question is welcome! And so are you!
