Welcome to my profile.
I am a Therapist based in West London, providing individual therapy online to clients across the UK. My practice is a welcoming and affirming space for LGBTQ+ and GSRD individuals, tailored to nurture mental health with compassion and professionalism. I use an integrative approach, combining psychodynamic principles and person-centred therapy, and I draw on structured modalities like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) where appropriate.
Whether you’re seeking short-term support or embarking on a longer therapeutic journey, we’ll work collaboratively to reflect on your experiences and explore pathways forward. My approach is sensitive to complex trauma, dissociation, and the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. Our sessions will be a space for you to be seen, heard, and supported.
About me and my therapy practice
Online LGBTQ+ / GSRD DBT Skills Groups
In partnership with Emma Brooks at Liminal Therapies Ltd, I co-facilitate a DBT-informed Coping Skills Group. This group meets weekly via Zoom, providing an inclusive and primarily LGBTQ+/GSRD-affirmative space. Together, we explore skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Our program runs in three modules, each beginning with a three-week induction. Groups are small (8–12 participants) and supported by two facilitators to ensure a safe, engaging environment. At the end of each module, participants are offered a one-to-one review session to reflect on their progress and refine their goals. For more details or to join, please visit Liminal Therapies.
SCID-D Assessments for Dissociative Disorders
For those seeking clarity around dissociative symptoms, I offer SCID-D assessments, a gold-standard diagnostic tool for dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). These assessments involve a detailed exploration of symptoms such as memory gaps, identity confusion, and feelings of detachment.
Conducted over multiple sessions, the process is tailored to your needs, offering insights that inform therapeutic approaches like EMDR or trauma-focused therapy. Whether you’re seeking a diagnosis or understanding dissociation to guide ongoing therapy, this service provides a compassionate and thorough assessment.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name’s Ed, I’m a Therapist working online nationally and in London. I work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties from many different backgrounds, everyone’s story and reason for coming to therapy are different but all are equal.
I offer both long and short term individual therapy and run an online Coping Skills Group which is informed by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Generally the length of therapy is something that we would discuss in our first session. In the case of longer term therapy we would frequently review as the therapy progresses to consider what work remains and when might it be appropriate to conclude therapy.
The model of therapy that I offer draws primarily on psychodynamic and person-centred theory, focusing on the therapeutic relationship while we work together. I also have knowledge of DBT, EMDR and Mindfulness and may draw on these should they be relevant to our work together.
Training & Experience
I currently work part time in private practice, while also continuing to work for the NHS in a Community Mental Health Team. As a Practitioner I belong to the BACP who are my professional body. I am a ‘Registered Member’, this means that I abide by their ethical framework while working as an Integrative Therapist and that I undertake frequent CPD and receive regular supervision to make sure my work is clinically safe.

About me and my therapy practice
The model of supervision that I offer is based on the Seven Eyed model by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. This model offers supervision from both relational and systemic perspectives by looking at seven different aspects:
- Focusing on the clients and exploring what and how they present
- Exploring the strategies and interventions used by the therapist when working with the client
- Focussing on the relationship between the client and the supervisee
- Focussing on the supervisee
- Focussing on the supervisory relationship
- The supervisor focussing on their own experience
- Focusing on the wider context in which the work happens – considering the system the client finds themselves in
In terms of modalities that I work with and have experience of, my own initial training focused on Petruska Clarkson’s Five Relationship Model which incorporates a range of theories though significantly from both the person centred and psychodynamic approaches. Since qualifying I have undertaken further training specialising in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and currently work as a Counsellor in a Secondary Care DBT Team in the NHS working both with individuals and groups. This work is primarily with people who have experienced complex trauma, and before that, five years in a crisis team providing crisis intervention. I also have an interest other models of therapy including Internal Family Systems, the work of Janina Fisher, Somatic interventions and EMDR.
Alongside my NHS work, I also have a thriving private practice and I’m happy to support newly qualified therapists as they begin their journey into private practice and support them to develop this area of their practice, both the exciting opportunities this might provide and also the challenges of working independently.
Please get in touch if you would like to arrange to meet so we can see how we might be able to work together.
