About me and my therapy practice
Having negative beliefs about yourself can lower your ability to cope with stress. That might mean you feel overwhelmed and anxious because how you view and feel about yourself can profoundly affect all aspects of your life.
Let's talk about what's getting in the way of you being happy and work together on how to move you forward.
If you know what you should be eating but just can't seem to do it, I can help. Food can be your best friend and your worst enemy, or even both at the same time! You may not feel okay in your body; we can address that, too.
Therapy is for people with the self-awareness to recognise that they need a helping hand, which is something to applaud. You don't have to be in crisis to come to therapy. Positive changes in your relationships, work and life in general really can take place, even when those challenges seem overwhelming and distressing.
Here's a review from a recent client:
"Building trust is easy with Eileen; at the end of the second session, I felt I could discuss everything without fear of judgment and in a safe environment.
Eileen was a fantastic guide on a personal journey to self-acceptance, happiness, and emotional freedom. I was stuck in a complex maze of self-criticism that sapped away at my emotions, and she was there to help me spot the clues so I could find my own way out."
I offer both short and long-term therapy. I work with people experiencing low mood, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges with partners, family or friends, issues with food and overeating, childhood issues, grief and loss, anger, and feeling 'stuck' in life.
Whatever you may bring, you are very welcome.
Practice description
I'm a qualified therapist, nutritionist, and mindfulness teacher. I also teach Level 3 and Level 4 counselling skills courses and Mental Health First Aid at Work courses.
You can work with me at my office, walk with me or have our sessions online.
I offer a free initial 30-minute session, which is very informal. We can meet, and you can ask any questions and decide what you'd like to do next.
My first session
You can have an appointment with me face to face at my office in Wilmslow, online, or we can have a walking therapy session. Some clients do a mix depending on what's going on with their week.
Walking therapy appointments are very popular. We can meet at particular locations in the Greater Manchester area. At our initial session, we will discuss how a walking therapy session works and where we will meet.
Finding the right therapist that 'fits' with you is essential.
