About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Amanda. I understand how daunting it can be taking that first step to finding the right therapist . I welcome a free phone chat to get a sense of how we might work together.
My priority is to put you at ease from our first point of contact. I have a very warm, down to earth approach that allows for a deep, trusting therapeutic relationship to form.
I'm an experienced relational, integrative Psychotherapist working from my private practice in West Molesey where I offer long or short term work, face to face or online sessions.
I have extensive experience working with bereavement and loss of various forms, and of anxiety, depression, anger, demotivation, identity issues, relationship difficulties, physical symptoms, PTSD and trauma.
I undertake regular Continued Personal Development and supervision to maintain a good standard of practice and work in accordance with the BACP’s ethical framework that priorities commitment to confidentiality and respect of my clients’ diverse individual needs.
Practice description
My work recognises the importance of our mind-body relationship. Working holistically helps address historic survival patterns and encourages deeper levels of healing.
I draw from a variety of models with my core approaches being Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Existential. I also draw, where appropriate, from a range of psycho-biological models, including Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Neuroscience, Attachment EMDR and Mindfulness-based therapies.
My first session
Our first session offers the opportunity to give an overview of your situation and how you are experiencing it in the context of your life, work and relationships.
We also get a sense of how it feels between us, how we might work together and whether we feel like a good match for each other.
I aim to briefly outline possible ways of working together and welcome questions and preferences for particular approaches.
