About me and my therapy practice
Hi I’m Sally – I’m an integrative counsellor so I use various approaches rather than just one way of working. I am compassionate, creative and specialise in working with neurodiversity, as someone with lived experience of ADHD.
I can help with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationships, abuse, grief and bereavement amongst many other mental health and personal issues.
I'm friendly, approachable, and easy to connect with - building a trusting relationship is at the heart of my practice.
I have a Masters degree in Counselling from The University of Manchester and researched the experience of PMDD (Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder).
Practice description
If you are facing difficult circumstances, feeling low or anxious, not feeling yourself, struggling to cope with a situation now or in the past, it can be helpful to talk. When you explore your feelings with someone independent from your own life, it can be the first time you have really been heard and understood. Saying your truth and truly being heard is a powerful thing. It can help you gain strength, understanding of yourself and relationships in your life – a clarity which can help you identify changes in behaviour and develop new coping skills.
I will compassionately challenge you to grow, inside and outside of sessions. We might use the space for therapeutic talk but also use practical strategies, tools for life improvement, creative expression – whatever feels right for you. By giving you a safe space to tell your story, I can help you connect past experiences with current issues, helping you understand yourself better and find the clarity you need to move forward.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation in which we can have a chat about what you're looking for and see if it feels like a good fit.
In your first counselling session you can expect a gentle, warm and client-centred approach. We will be getting to know each other, I'll be getting some information from you about what brings you to counselling and mainly just listening and providing a safe space for you to share. This may feel daunting and you might struggle to know where to start - but I can help you begin to unravel everything, don't worry.
