About me and my therapy practice
A Senior Accredited Counsellor and UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, I have more than 25 years experience of working therapeutically with individuals and groups in clinical, educational and community learning environments. I have practised as a counsellor in healthcare, in community counselling services and in a university counselling service.
I am a educator and supervisor of psychotherapy and counselling having worked with postgraduates at universities in Liverpool and Warwick.
Postgraduate qualifications in Integrative Psychotherapy, and in Gestalt Psychotherapy underpin my professional practice. More details about my qualifications and experience are available on my website.
My Approach
At times, anyone of us can experience feelings that are painful, distressing, or even confusing, and on occasions such feelings can be difficult to manage alone. Therapy is a distinctive place where we can look at things together, uniquely the focus of attention is on you and the support that you need.
I work with the belief that we each have the capacity to address the difficulties that arise in our lives, however sometimes we can get a bit stuck, that is when it is useful to be able to get the help you need.
I work in a relational way; I am committed to working with you honestly, with respect and empathy, and from a non-judgemental place. I use my skills to fully engage with you, to support and sometimes to challenge you gently, so that greater awareness is brought to the issues that impact upon you.
Practice description
I have a consulting room in Oxton, Wirral. My practice is on the first floor of the building.
I am committed to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice, and I adhere to the Ethical Codes of Professional Practice of BACP, UKCP and GPTI.
I welcome diversity, working with those who are from different backgrounds and cultures to my own. I am a committed ally to the LGBTQI+ community, and to All Black Lives Matter.

I offer supervision in person in my Oxton practice, and also online. Please have a look at my website as indicated above and contact me for further details
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Supervisor (PG Cert Supervision), a Senior Accredited Counsellor, and UKCP Registered Psychotherapist. Further details about my qualifications are available on my website. I offer supervision to trainee / qualified psychotherapists and counsellors, as well as to people from caring professions such as social workers, healthcare practitioners, education providers and support workers etc.
As a supervisor I am informed by my experience of working therapeutically in a variety of settings including in education, NHS healthcare, in community counselling services, a university counselling service and also in private practice. In an educational capacity I have taught and supervised postgraduates, including counselling and psychotherapy trainees, at universities in Liverpool and Warwick.
My Approach
I believe supervision is a place for reflection and curiosity in order to non-defensively explore current practice. I think it’s also important to provide a supportive and challenging focus to promote development, awareness and understanding of the complexities of the work undertaken.
The level of supervision you require will depend on your caseload and experience. You may need to check the ethical requirement of your professional body to ensure you have the correct client:supervision ratio
