About me and my therapy practice
Balance Psychotherapy is a wellbeing, trauma and relationships clinic offering mostly 8-16 session integrative psychotherapy.
Hi there, choosing a type of therapy is incredibly challenging. If a mistake is made, one wastes money, time, and the opportunity for healing. Whichever therapy modality you are going to choose, make sure that in sessions you feel the therapist models how to balance your emotions, your thoughts, and how to manage the heavy feelings in your body. The social system around you needs to be carefully examined as well. One way to balance your needs is to integrate different modalities.
Being educated to MSc in Education, MSc in Psychotherapy, and MSc in Human Development, and certified in Couple Counselling, I am well-positioned to integrate different modalities such as DBT, IFS, EMDR, therapeutic mindfulness, object relations, and CBT. With empathetic curiosity, I look for the core of my clients' source of mental pain and find a solution that is integral to your personality.
Most of my clients suffer from trauma, which then impacts their mental health and the way they form relationships. The usual approach is scheduling a consultation (booking on my website, with direct access to my diary) to look in-depth at your difficulties and then proceed, if you wish, to an 8-session therapy. This can be repeated if you wish until you feel you are alright. Between sessions, you will have access to my app with recorded tips and therapeutic mindfulness to help and speed up your healing.
Just one more word: many people feel that seeking therapy indicates something is wrong with them, instead of recognizing that larger systems or events can make us unwell. Seeing therapy means you are creating a wiser and happier future for yourself and your family.
