Practice description
I work privately from home in Urmston face to face or on line.
My approach in Therapy
Counselling and psychotherapy are both “talking therapies” which help us make sense of our lives and survive the crisis, difficulty or turning point. My approach is integrative which means I have been trained in, and can employ, several theoretical approaches.
I have a person centred core and draw from cognitive behavioural therapy, humanistic , brief solution focused therapy and existential approaches to adapt the theory to each individual client and Supervision.
My philosophy is that each person is unique and therefore no one approach suits all. I might use cognitive behavioural therapy for clients with phobias or panic attacks, whereas the person who is depressed or anxious will need a more supportive and philosophical approach.
My aim is to clarify those aspects of your life that cause distress, confusion or anger and that can lead to you feeling stuck, blocked, unfulfilled and desperate. It is through exploration and clarification that we can explore options and choices and understand and come to terms with our issues.
I am lead by you and I work to support you in being the best counsellor that you can be. I can be challenging and share professional experience and best practice.
Ethically, safely and in the best interest of your clients, yourself and your employer, voluntary organisation and or training establishment.
My first session

We will spend time getting to know each other. Building a trusting therapeutic alliance, whilst assessing your needs and collabratively working on a contract together.
You will have a non judgmental encouraging and challenging yet nurturing confidential space to explore your work.
We will work together to prioritise what is important to explore deeper. I will share guidance and strategies where appropriate.
To clarify your thoughts and feelings and those of your clients to explore movement and learnings and possibly start to set goals/ approaches.
