About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome.
You may feel that in everyday life, you concentrate on everyone else, whilst your own needs are neglected. In counselling, the space and time is yours to explore whatever you need to bring, along with my support to help you find your own answers. I will help you develop understanding, self-awareness and coping mechanisms, as you decide how to move forward.
I work together with clients to promote wellbeing and resilience, and I am also here to provide support through the difficult times when you may be finding it hard to cope.
Maybe you feel overwhelmed, struggling with many issues and need support to help you carry it all, maybe you've experienced a difficult loss, or you're looking to focus on one thing which you want to change, but you're not sure how. Perhaps you wish to enhance your life and general wellbeing. Whatever your reasons for seeking support, I work together with you to meet your individual needs.
I create a confidential space, free from judgement, so you can feel safe to begin exploring your issues, whether they be personal, professional or relationship based.
I am also experienced in bereavement support, and have a particular passion for helping people find their way through the incredibly difficult time surrounding loss. I have Advanced Specialist training status in this with the National Counselling Society. Until recently, I volunteered as a Bereavement counsellor with the charity Cruse.
It's an honour for me to sit alongside my clients in their darkest times, and to share in their joyful moments too as they explore and grow. I'd love to hear from you so we can begin your counselling journey together!
Practice description
I am a fully qualified, Accredited and experienced counsellor, and I have worked with a wide range of clients and issues in various counselling services over several years. I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework. My background is in Public Health and Mental Health, with a career spanning over 17 years.
I work Integratively as I believe no single theory fits everyone. This means I weave several approaches together, tailoring them to fit your unique needs. The relationship between client and counsellor is a huge part of the therapy and so I build a warm, trusting relationship from the beginning.
My first session
Please get in touch with an email or a phone call so we can arrange to meet for an initial 60-90 minute introductory assessment session costing £60, where we will discuss your needs, begin to understand some of the issues you bring, and decide if we are comfortable working together.
