About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking for help with your feelings of anxiety?
Have you been experiencing panic attacks?
As an Anxiety UK approved therapist I specialise in working with anxiety and the problems it can cause for you.
Changes in your life can be difficult to cope with and can lead to anxiety.
Stress, if not managed early enough can lead to anxiety.
Anxiety can also lead to low mood and depression.
If you struggle to manage your anxiety this can lead to panic attacks and other problems.
Do you feel that you need help with finding ways to manage your anxiety and reduce the symptoms you are experiencing because of it, I can help you with this.
Together we can discuss how anxiety affects your life and look at tools, skills and strategies that will help you manage it better and reduce the impact it has on you.
My comfortable counselling room offers you a relaxed environment where we can talk about what is troubling you and work together to help you find ways to manage life better and make the changes you feel will help you.
Or if you prefer you can have counselling from the comfort of your own home through online video sessions.
Your first session is at half price, this allows us to get to know each other and you can ask all the questions you have to help you understand how we will work together and if you feel I will be the right counsellor for you.
To find out more give me a call or send me a message, I will usually get back to you within 24 hours and be able to book you in for an introductory session within a few days.

A half price introductory session means we can get to know each other and work out how best to work together
Practice description
I am trained as a counsellor and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, this allows us to explore your problems together and also look at tools and techniques that may be helpful to you on a day to day basis, helping you manage and reduce your anxiety.
I believe how we get on together is of upmost importance, you may feel vulnerable sharing your problems, you might tell me things you have not shared with others before, you may have been holding onto things not sure how to talk about them with others and this is your opportunity to open up and find ways to cope with, manage and reduce your anxieties.
It is therefore important that you feel safe, comfortable and able to trust me. I will keep what you say to me confidential and our introductory session helps us get to know each other and find out if we are a right fit.
If you choose face to face sessions I have a comfortable, bright and welcoming counselling room. It has a lovely sunny aspect and clients often comment on how peaceful the room is.
I am situated in Parkstone, Poole and easy to find. There is plenty of street parking always available and buses stop within walking distance of the property.
If you prefer to have sessions in the comfort of your home or on a remote basis I offer online video sessions via zoom, which can be a convenient and helpful way to have counselling.
My first session
Your first session with me is at the reduced rate of £30 for 50 minutes
This is because I feel it important for you to find out if you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor, and also for me to find out what is troubling you and if I am able to help.
As this first session is to assess how we can work together I do ask a number of questions and fill in a few forms.
This is different from your usual sessions where you will likely do most of the talking.
The most important aspect of counselling is the relationship you have with your counsellor and this first session gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and for me to help you feel comfortable about counselling.
Previous clients have said
'I am amazed at how far counselling sessions have helped me progress both emotionally and mentally. I have felt I have been able to discuss anything in a safe environment'
'Counselling helped me move from a place of negative anxiety and depression, that would stop me from putting myself in social situations, to a place where I feel confident and can manage my anxiety'

About me and my therapy practice
I have been working in my own private practice for 5 years and have a passion for helping others develop and grow their own private practice.
Now as a qualified supervisor I am excited to be able to support other counsellors in private practice.
I focus my supervision on working with counsellors either considering setting up their own private practice or currently running their own private practice.
I consider supervision not only a safe space to reflect on your client work, but also a space to reflect on your own processes in your counselling work.
I support you as you navigate the challenges of running your own private practice.
Private Practice can be a lonely and challenging place.
'Going it alone' can lead to anxious and uncertain moments, I will be there to support you through these moments, also bringing in my experience as a counsellor specialising in working with anxiety.
I can help you navigate some of those 'not good enough', 'am I out of my depth', 'I cant do this' and 'imposter syndrome' moments.
Practice description
Having worked through the CPCAB Level 6 supervision training I have studied both the Cyclical Model and Seven Eyed Model of supervision.
I tend to favour working with the cyclical model, but incorporate both models within my work.
This means through our sessions we will focus on the relationship between you and your clients and between you and me.
Our work will look at
- Contracting
- How the supervision session is relevant to your client work
- Exploring your work with your client
- Using the supervision space to learn from your work with your client and consider how to integrate this back into your session and enhance your therapeutic relationship.
- Review your client work so you can reflect on the standard and the quality of your work
Alongside supporting you with your client work we will also look at ways to support you grow your private practice.
I will be led by you as to what your needs are, but this could include things such as
- Success Planning
- Note Keeping
- Assessments
- Money Mindset
- Marketing and Advertising
- Writing Directory Profiles
- Social Media Presence
- Expenses
- Growing your client base
