About me and my therapy practice

Feeling empty, disconnected or anxious without knowing why?

You might be feeling as though you are often on edge and something bad is about to happen.

It might be hard to feel in control of your emotions where you can overreact to things, and then regret it later.

You might put people's needs above your own because you're afraid they'll leave if you don't.

You might even go to extreme lengths to avoid confrontation because it feels too overwhelming. What you might find is that it's starting to impact how you feel day to day and it's starting to cause problems in your relationships.

If this sounds like you, you can learn where these patterns started and most importantly, what you can do to change.

Some people like a space to talk, however, I find that having something more practical and collaborative helps to shift and transform unhelpful patterns.

Some of the key areas I work with include:

  • High functioning depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Childhood Trauma
  • Narcissistic Relationships/Parents
  • Codependency

As a trauma informed therapist, I also work with understanding your physical and emotional responses. This helps to facilitate long lasting change.

I have a proactive approach that works really well with people who often avoid talking about their feelings.

At the end of therapy, my clients have been able to manage toxic working environments,  develop tools to feel calmer and more emotionally resilient and thrive after having toxic relationships.

My special interest areas are childhood trauma and people pleasing using an attachment focused approach. This helps you to understand how the past can impact the present and to find better ways of coping.

If you'd like to learn how to feel calmer, more in control of your reactions and to stop the racing thoughts that keep you up at night, get in touch.

I offer free 15 minute Zoom calls to all new clients.

My first session

The first session is for us to get to know each other and make a collaborative plan of what you are hoping to achieve from therapy.

We may cover some of this briefly in our initial telephone consultation, but the first session is more detailed.

The first session can feel daunting if you've never experienced therapy before, but I assure you that the first session is similar to a relaxed conversation.

I do not expect you to know all of the answers and there are no awkward silences!

If you get stuck with what to say, I'll ask some relevant questions that will help you along.

Many of my clients comment that they wish they had started therapy sooner.
