About me and my therapy practice
I am a Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, offering long-term and short term counselling.
There are times in life when we face difficult and challenging periods, which may leave us feeling alone, isolated, confused, overwhelmed, stuck in our life, or lacking a sense of belonging. Counselling can offer support in a safe and confidential environment, allowing you to explore your feelings, concerns, and conflicts whilst helping you to achieve the growth and change that you wish for. I believe that everyone has the capacity to create these changes and find meaning through their unique experience of life, and I value each person as an individual. I offer a warm, accepting, flexible, and creative approach that will always seek to support you with working at your own pace.
Practice description
I studied Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling at the University of Brighton. I am a qualified counsellor, professionally insured and a registered member of the BACP. I have worked in the mental health field for over 14 years, working for charities and mental health organisations.
Grounded in a person-centred approach as well as in existential concepts that underpin humanistic counselling theory, I aim to help you recognise your capacity for self-healing and growth through an open, honest and genuine therapeutic relationship. I will work with you to help you identify feelings and emotions, in whichever way you choose to express yourself. I will support you in connecting with and finding meaning through your lived experiences. I believe everyone experiences the world differently and so my approach caters to your understanding of that very experience.
Through my practice it is my intention to support you in feeling more empowered towards living a fulfilling, whole and meaningful life.
I regularly undertake continuous professional development training and supervision.
