About me and my therapy practice
I can offer you a professional, safe, cared-for and confidential environment, which will support you in exploring the aspects of your life that are troubling you.
I am committed to ensuring you receive the therapy that suits your individual needs and therefore offer a free introductory session.
People enter therapy for many reasons. Whatever your circumstances or the obstacles you face, having a confidential space where you are not judged, where it is safe for you to be totally ‘you’, will be key to assisting you in your journey to a life that feels happier and more content. Counselling, in a supportive and collaborative way can empower you and help you grow in self- awareness and resilience.
The foundation of my work is in Person Centred Counselling, which means you talk about whatever you feel comfortable with. You are the expert on you and we work together with what you feel is important.
However, because no two people are the same, we are all unique, I may blend other therapies to help you find your way and move forward. These include creative therapies; Inner Child work; TA; Gestalt; Psychodynamic and CBT techniques.
My diverse and varied counselling experience has equipped me to meet the differing needs of my clients, who include young children; adolescents; adults and the elderly.
I have undergone intensive, specialist training in working with men, woman and children who have suffered sexual abuse and the traumas that are the result of this. These can include P.T.S.D., self-harm, anxiety, depression, problems within relationships and suicidal feelings.
I am also a qualified teacher with a specialism in Early Years and a registered counsellor with the Infant Loss Foundation.
Practice description
As a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
What this means for my clients is that I regularly review my practice and undertake training so I can be a competent and skilled therapist to accompany them on their journey.
I have an enhanced D.B.S.; Liability Insurance and am a member of the I.C.O (Information Commissioner's Office), which ensures all data is processed and kept correctly.
I have undertaken specialist counselling training on delivering online sessions and am a member of ACTO ( the UK governing body for online therapy), which helps you to know that you are being treated safely.
