About me and my therapy practice
I have been established in Private Practice since 2006 providing integrative counselling, Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) I have also worked in High Schools 2011 to 2020. In recent years however more clients and companies have requested CBT hence me taking CBT into a new business integrating my previous practice to provide a more specialised area of expertise, both individually and corporate provisions. I work with adults 18 and over. I also offer integrative therapies tailored to the individual.
To share and put perspective on life and have someone listen in a non-judgmental and empathic way is a gift within your reach, the solutions to your growth and healing are within you, they are perhaps hidden in unknown territory or restrained by fear and pain? I shall support you in finding the answers within you. No problem is too big or small for counselling, what is important is how your life is being affected by what is going on for you at this time. Seeking help is a strength not a weakness and once you have taken the first step you will continue to grow and heal.
I work under the code of ethics of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies) and registered with the ICO (independent Commissioners Office). I am also an Accredited therapist with the BACP.
Practice description
I have a designated practice in my home, due to Covid-19 I have amended the way I practice, my room has leather furniture that is wiped down and sanitized between clients, hand sanitizer is available on entry. Masks are currently voluntary. I am fully vaccinated. The room is well ventilated and there is a 2 meter distance between yourself and me the therapist. There is ample parking at the side and a bus stop 5 minutes walk away, I am a 5 minute taxi ride and 10 minutes walk from the nearest train station. It is centrally located 5 minutes from Wigan Pier and 10 minutes from Wigan Town Centre.
My first session
The first session is both an assessment and an opportunity to build trust and rapport, to formulate a plan of how we will work together to achieve your goals and look at the best way forward for you to both heal and grow and achieve from therapy what you wanted. To be able to bring closure or to find the confidence you longed for, to find a way forward together one step at a time. To walk away with Hope is all I ask of a first session.
