About me and my therapy practice

 Hello and welcome!

Are you feeling overwhelmed, lost, alone and unsure which direction to take in your life? Are you struggling with feelings of shame, anger,  guilt, low self esteem?

Are you longing for a  deeper more intimate connection   with yourself, and others?

I  offer a  Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy (Core Process) and have been I have been running a Private Practice since 2011, when completed my training at the Karuna Institute.

During this time, I have supported people who are working through various mental and emotional  challenges, including anxiety, depression, P.T.S.D, addictions, family disfunction, and relationship issues.

I see these challenges as symptoms of  trauma, which i understand  to be inherent in the  human condition.

My work is underpinned by Buddhist principles and practice and is carries influences of Jungian and Humanistic Psychology as well as Family Constellation principles and Shamanic Practice.

Additional experience

Alongside my Private Practice, I have been working in voluntary and statutory sector, for the last 17 years: (N.H.S, Homelessness and Drug and Alcohol Services, Women's Services). Here, I have gained experience of working with the more complex issues faced by women and men, such as the impact of sex working/sex trafficking, domestic violence,  sexual violence ,substance misuse, homelessness and declining mental health.

 A little about me

I was raised in Greece by a Greek father and English mother and speak both languages.

I have a wealth of life experience and have travelled down many difficult paths in my life. By this, I mean that I have lived experience of the many of the issues people bring to therapy.

I feel that my life experience, allows me a deep sense of empathy and understanding of the issues others are struggling with.

Practice description

I offer a warm and confidential space were you can explore feeling, thoughts and relational patterns which are getting in you way of you connecting more deeply  with yourself  and others.

To support this process aside from talking therapy, i can include body scans, guided meditation, guided fantasy, art, movement, journal writing,  work with dreams and rituals

These practices can help you to enter deeper states of consciousness which will then allow you to understand where you where in the past, where you are now and what path you might want to take.

My first session

I know how difficult it is to take that first step and ask for help from someone you do not know, therefor I would welcome you to send me a text   or an email  with suggestions of when to call you  so  we can then arrange an initial session.

In this way, we will have the opportunity to meet face to face or online and talk about what brings you to therapy as well as an opportunity  for either of us to ask any questions.  This is also a place to decide if we "fit" together in order to start on this journey or if you want to be signposted to another therapist or service.

I normally  work Tuesday to Friday from 10 am until 6 pm.   However, where possible i can offer sessions outside these days and times.

About me and my therapy practice

Are you a trainee or newly fledged Counsellor or Psychotherapist?

Or are you  a Counsellor or  a Psychotherapist interested in bringing a Transpersonal  approach to your work with clients ?

Or are you  perhaps  looking for group Supervision.

I am now offering low cost Supervision, due to my trainee Supervisor status.

I am currently training at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, which on completion will lead to a Transpersonal, Clinical Supervision Diploma. The training brings together Humanistic and Psychodynamic, Existential and Transpersonal approaches.

My background and approach.

I have a Masters degree in Core Process Psychotherapy and have been in private practice since 2011.

Core Process Psychotherapy is a transpersonal approach, underpinned by Buddhist Philosophy and Practice  bringing  together Jungian, Humanistic and Developmental Psychotherapy.

In CCP, the practice of Mindfulness is essential as it  can helps us become more connected to our bodies, and this in turn allows us to become present and experience open heartedness in relationship.

Intimacy with ourselves and the world is central to the teachings in CCP.

I have chosen Psychosynthesis as a modality, because i find it resonates with Transpersonal, understandings and insights, these reflecting and complimenting some of the ways in which i work.

I have 13 years experience of working with clients who have experienced deep trauma and as a result struggle with anxiety, depression, addictions, domestic and sexual violence and relational issues.

In addition, I have 17 years experience working within the voluntary and statutory sector supporting clients experiencing, homelessness, addictions, declining mental health, and the impact of domestic and sexual violence, trafficking and sex work.

Through these experiences, have seen that trauma is part of our human condition and if it is not attended to with empathy and understanding it will obstruct our connection to ourselves, others and our lives.

Practice description

In my experience, therapy is a unique relationship, in that it serves as a container for us to explore difficult territories which can be conscious or unconscious.

Little by little this process helps us increase our awareness of our inner and outer world and leads us back home to our essential natures.

I am offering you a safe and creative space to explore your experience of working with clients and help you to increase your awareness of conscious and unconscious information being exchanged, between you and the client.

We can also explore the ways in which client material can activate processes in you and how these may "spill" over  in to your personal life.

I pay particular attention to your own wellbeing and your experience as a therapist or trainee, by supporting you to bring awareness to your inner process and needs and finding ways to get these met.

This way you can gain more ground, presence and resilience in your work with clients.

To support this process I can include guided meditations, body scans, journal writing and dream work

Please free to drop me a text or an email so we can arrange a call to discuss booking an initial session with me if you wish.

For individual, in person Supervision:

My practice is located in the centre of Bristol, just off Stokes Croft, very close to Lakota the club.
