About me and my therapy practice
What if life could be different and you were no longer stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving? What if issues such as trauma, abuse, neglect, depression, anxiety and stress no longer hindered your growth and healing? What if you could acknowledge the pain of past experiences and find ways of letting them go? What kind of life would you choose to live instead? Could you dare to dream of a different way of being and reach for what currently feels impossible? By seeking help at this time, you have an awareness that there is more to life and you are no longer settling for what it has been up until now.
My goal for you is that within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, you experience the acceptance and empathy needed for the development of greater authenticity whereby you can truly say you are the captain of your soul.
You are welcome to email me to arrange a free short telephone call. Sessions last up to 60 minutes via Zoom or telephone only. Fee: sliding scale £60-80
Practice description
I am an experienced person-centred trained and registered counsellor currently working in private practice. I have 16 years experience, including working in a diverse range of charities addressing a wide range of issues and concerns. Settings have included forensic counselling, issues of faith counselling, and pregnancy loss counselling.
I specialise in assisting clients connect with their true selves. I am very interested in the psycho-spiritual and transpersonal elements of this transformation work. Additional training includes Narcissistic abuse therapy, Complex trauma therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Racial identities, and Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) therapy.
I regularly review the work we are doing to ensure it is meeting your needs, knowing that these evolve over time.
My first session
The initial session is about creating a space of safety and trust in which you can begin to share your story and what it is you would like from therapy.
There is an assessment involving some exploratory questions. We consider any previous therapy and the benefits gained, as well as what you may want to do differently.
At this stage, you may simply need to talk and share. Equally, you may have goals in mind that we can make note of.
