About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my profile.
Life can be overwhelming and challenging at times. Reaching out to a therapist for support takes courage. To help you through this first step i offer a free 20 minute consultation for you to express your concerns, get a feel for the way i work and what you would like to achieve in therapy.
I am a qualified, dedicated and professionally trained Person-Centred Therapist based in Coventry. I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of life. I am a registered member of the BACP adhering to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I work with the belief that all individuals are the experts of their own experiences, and thus within the counselling relationship are deserving of my respect & curiosity. I offer a safe, non- judgemental and authentic environment where my goal is to make an empathic connection with you. Ultimately to be your safe haven where unresolved emotional issues and unacknowledged thoughts, which are often pushed to one side as we try to cope with our daily lives can be explored.
Practice description
I acknowledge the powerful impact of delivering a therapeutic relationship where my clients trust and confidentiality are an integral part of effective counselling outcomes.
My approach to therapy centres around the belief that our lives, experiences, and ways of being in the world and unique to us all; therefore the therapeutic approach should reflect and adapt to our individuality, rather than taking a one size fits all approach.
Throughout our sessions i will aim to work at a pace and direction that is suitable for you. By reflecting back to you, i will assist you in gaining a deep understanding of your emotions and thoughts, developing greater self-awareness in what your values are and what holds meaning for you.
My first session
Coming to counselling for the 1st time is a big step for many people and i understand that.
Following on from our initial free 20 minute telephone consultation, we can schedule a 50 minute session. The first session is a valuable opportunity for us to access how we can work together effectively. During this time, we`ll explore the reasons that brought you to therapy, discuss goals and expectations, and begin the process of building therapeutic relations.
I will also have a written `Client-Therapist Agreement` which we will go through. It covers confidentiality, cancelling or changing appointments, and what to expect from me as a BACP Therapist.
You do not have to commit yourself to a number of sessions, as this will depend on your individual concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. The frequency and the the progress of sessions will be reviewed regularly.
If you are interested in the counselling i offer or would like more information please get in touch.
