About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Accredited BACP Therapist. Since qualifying in 2014 I’ve led a school counselling service for 9 years alongside a small private practice working with adults and young people. I’ve worked therapeutically with the arts since 2010.
I love working with clients to connect with their creativity, whether it's cooking, gardening, DIY, needlework, music, woodwork, dancing.
Creativity can be key in our healing process. Tuning back into our creative self we build resilience and connect to what makes us feel strong and centred.
All therapy is in a sense creative. It is re-writing past experiences, it is painting a new picture of yourself; it is trying on new personas and exploring who we are in relation to one-another; it is about using our own instincts to guide us closer to our own truth and to find that settled feeling of stillness and flow.
We all know deeply who we are and what we need. We just need to take the time to truly listen.
I work with kindness, skill and years of experience to help you better understand yourself. Using a blend of the arts, breath-work and talking therapy we explore past experiences; we anchor and appreciate small things in the present; we visualize and dream about the future, planting seeds of hope, connecting you to places and people who matter.
Currently I see anyone 16+ who is looking to make a shift and to connect more deeply to yourself, your purpose, the people and the planet surrounding you. Life can be desperately hard. It can throw curve balls and cliff edges. We may feel like we can’t get any lower. Often after these lows huge life-changes can occur. With courage and honesty this is the point where growth and healing come
When we feel stuck it can feel very frightening to take steps to change. Change takes courage and a series of small steps can together become giant leaps in the healing process.
Practice description
Central to my work are the values of kindness, respect and hope. I work with sensitivity to help you better understand yourself and the challenges you face. There are many tools and modalities which I mix depending on your needs and preferences. As we work together I refine and develop our sessions offering you a unique blend of therapy. Part focused on the present but also focussed on the future, who you truly are and who you hope to become,
I have worked therapeutically with children, young people and adults for since 2010. I work privately with both young people and adults. Not many people admit it, but therapy can also be fun! Often when we’re facing big emotions humour is a great ally, it softens shame and self-hatred and allows other possibilities to emerge.
Clients I’ve worked with in the past talk about feeling more wholeness in themselve and finding a sense of self respect, deeper understanding and hope. I feel deeply privileged to work as a therapist and to be alongside clients who are in the process of transformation and healing.
Central to any healing is a safe and trusting alliance. You must feel safe with whoever you work with, that feeling of safety is what gives us the courage to venture forwards into change and healing. I offer an initial session as a chance to see if it feels right.
My first session
I offer a free initial free session so you can meet and you can see hear about feels to work with me.
