About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. I work with a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, sexuality and gender issues, identity issues, phobias, work related difficulties, eating disorders and addictions. I have six years post qualification experience as a psychotherapist and eleven years post qualification experience as a counsellor, so I am able to see students who are training in counselling & psychotherapy.

My areas of interest include gender identity, sexual orientation and eating disorders. I have over four years of experience working specifically within the LGBTQ+ community and I have also worked for a number of years as an associate therapist at a private eating disorders clinic in Central London, where I specialised in working with all forms of disordered eating. Currently, I am trying to educate myself more on racial injustice, prejudice and marginalisation.

I have completed two clinical trainings, one in counselling and the other in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The latter, more intensive training, allows me to work with individuals more than once a week - up to four times per week, if required.

I work with adults for face to face counselling and psychotherapy both open ended and time limited. I do not offer sessions on line.

If you are looking for counselling or psychotherapy in the London Bridge/Waterloo area of London, my private practice on Union Street, SE1 0LH is a short walk from Waterloo, Southwark and London Bridge Stations.

I suggest having an initial consultation so we can explore what's troubling you and discuss what you are hoping to achieve from therapy. You can then decide if you'd like to go forward, but you are under no obligation to do so. The initial consultation costs £75 and ongoing sessions range from £80 to £100 depending on your financial situation and the time of the session.

Practice description

My consulting room is on Union Street in Southwark, London SE1 0LH and has wheelchair access. It is easy to reach from Southwark, Waterloo, Blackfriars, London Bridge and Elephant and Castle

My first session

An initial consultation last for 50 minutes. This is an opportunity for you to get a feel for the way that I work.  I would be interested to know what has made you feel the need to seek therapy now and what are the main issues that you feel you need to talk about in therapy.

It is usual to have a second consultation before deciding if you'd like to go ahead with regular sessions but there is no obligation to begin ongoing sessions after an initial consultation.

If I don't think that psychoanalytic psychotherapy and/or psychodynamic counselling is going to be a suitable therapy for you, I will endeavour to suggest other therapies that I feel would be more helpful.
