About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am a friendly, non judgemental counsellor with many years of experience.
I have worked extensively within GP surgeries for over eight years, as well as bereavement agencies, and low cost counselling agencies. I have a broad knowledge, working with all ages and different life experiences. These can be as diverse as anxiety, depression, phobias, bereavement, loss, relationship, family and employment issues and domestic and sexual, emotional and physical abuse. I have trained as a Sexual Violence Worker and work with trauma. I work for several EAP's (Employee Assistant Programme) as well as BUPA, Vita, Aviva and Axa and am able to offer solution focussed therapy. I have been in private practice for over 10 years. I work with adults over 18.
I am experienced in working with trainee counsellors, and I'm also a supervisor with experience of working within a mental health charity, as well as offering individual supervision.
I can work both time limited and longer term. I can work creatively.
Happy to have a brief conversation over the phone about what it is you are wanting from counselling. I don't ask that you book a minimum amount of sessions as everyone is an individual and it is up to you to decide how many sessions you would like.
I offer face to face, online and telephone counselling as well as Talk and Walk therapy.
Practice description
I work from both a time limited and open ended perspective. This is something we can discuss in your first session.
I offer face to face, online, telephone and walking therapy. My designated garden room for face to face working is on the ground floor overlooking fields and provides a tranquil space. I have free off road parking. Online can work very well, as it saves you travel time and can be undertaken in a place that is comfortable and safe for you. Walking therapy allows us to include the natural world in our work and is taken at your pace. I am compliant with the latest Covid restrictions and can provide you with my risk assessement on request.
My first session
During our first session (assessment) I will take some notes and we can have a discussion about the way I work and what you want from the therapy. This session also gives you the chance to see if you feel comfortable with me and if I feel I can offer you the support you need. There is no obligation to book future sessions if you feel there isn't a connection between us.
