About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Amy Skarratts. I am a CBT/Person Centred Counsellor. I have worked in various areas of Counselling from charities, to schools, on-line platforms and private practice.
I have extensive experience working with adults and young people presenting with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, PTSD, traumatic bereavement, grief, loss, abuse, relationship issues and low self-esteem. I understand that counselling is not a one-size fits all approach and that every person and their experience is unique to them.
I believe that every person has the power within to heal themselves and positively grow from their experiences to live fulfilling life; given the right environment and support to do so. I am here to help support, empower and provide you with the tools to do just that.
If you are ready to take some small steps towards actively healing and bring about positive change to your life, I would love to hear from you.
What other people have said: (Feedback)
"She’s really nice and professional, she’s open to different methods of communication which is really helpful!" AF March 2023
"Amy helped me come to my own conclusions about some difficult feelings I was having towards my sexuality and gave me the confidence to be honest with myself and those around me. Amy listened and provided her own reflections with compassion and care." LH Oct 2022
"I was apprehensive about speaking to a therapist before I spoke to Amy but I’m so thankful I did, there is zero judgement when you speak to Amy and she speaks to you with respect, empathy and understanding. Amy is also brilliantly patient and accommodating and I would recommend her to anyone." PD July 2021
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I attend monthly counselling supervision and actively participate in Continuous Professional Development to ensure my practice is up to date.
