About me and my therapy practice

I offer personalised support to help individuals embrace life more fully and work towards their goals for growth and change. I have experience in supporting adults and young people with a broad range of issues and who come from all walks of life and backgrounds.

Therapy can be helpful in times of distress and crisis, but it is equally a space to learn more about yourself, to feel seen and less alone, to find meaning and for support in managing relationships and change.

I provide a safe space where I will meet you with curiosity and sensitivity as I help you explore your inner world and life experiences, at times encouraging and at times challenging you in order to support your process. Throughout I will strive to understand your situation from your perspective.

My main approach to counselling is Person-Centred, which places emphasis on every person’s capacity for growth and change, given the right supportive conditions. As such, I see myself as a helpful companion to support you on your journey.

I have also trained in the Psychodynamic Approach and in Mindfulness and have experience with Solution Focused Therapy and Brief Therapy. I believe helpful ideas and insights can come from anywhere, whether that’s a psychological concept or a work of art. As such I engage with and integrate ideas from a variety of disciplines and approaches to support my practice and my understanding of the human experience.

*Important note: If you are currently a matriculated student at the University of Edinburgh, unfortunately I cannot work with you in my private practice, as this would be in breach of my contract with the University of Edinburgh Student Counselling Service, where I am employed as a Counsellor.
