About me and my therapy practice
Maybe it's too painful; it’s hard to bear with. Maybe there is no one truly there for you, and you'd like to be heard and understood. Maybe you feel lost or stuck, unsure about what to do. Or maybe you’d like to rediscover the self that you seem to have lost. Perhaps even you only need a space to simply be. Whatever it is, you'd like to move on, develop, grow, make changes, you'd like to be able to find answers for yourself. Here might just be the right place for you.
[What I do/ How I do it]
As a humanistic therapist, I believe the most creative and insightful answers lie within our own experiences and stories. It is through venturing into one’s vulnerabilities where one finds healing and strength. The question is, how do we get there? My belief is that in therapy, the work happens relationally and experientially.
Working relationally means you can expect to meet me as my genuine self, while I aim to understand your world through your point of view. With curiosity and openness, I wish to create a therapeutic environment in which you are accepted as the way you are, feel safe to confront fears, and feel supported to visit difficult topics and make decisions for yourself.
Working experientially means encouraging exploration and experiments in a space where it feels safe. I don’t only hope for you to learn theories or tools, but to experience clarity, to embody the differences and changes; I don’t only want you to overcome current adversities, but to experience the power within you to do so.
Ultimately, the goal of the therapeutic relationship is to help you become more aware of how you relate to and experience the world around you, and to empower your autonomy to bring changes and create healthy connections in your life.

My personal areas of interest include:
Severe sadness and depression, cultural social justice, intersectionality, gender issues, self-esteem & identities, personal meaning and values, neurodiversity.
I am also experienced in working with:
Anxiety, bereavement, loss, family and relationship issues, trauma, loneliness, existential questions, life transitions, lack of motivation, work and study stress, eating disorders, etc.
I also work using creative methods in therapy. Sometimes words alone may not be enough, different methods can be used in combination with talking therapies to express and process how we feel. They can help facilitate openness, leading to deeper levels of awareness and insight that may otherwise be difficult. I am open to exploring various ways of working if you think it might be beneficial.
My first session
It is very important to find a suitable therapist and it can be hard to know what to look for, I am more than willing to help you with that. An initial session is a great opportunity to discuss your counselling needs, ask any questions you might have about the process, and for you to experience my way of working and see if you'd like to work with me further.
I look forward to working closely with you through challenges. I'm sure that will be a tough but beautiful process - I don’t only hope you can survive, but more, let’s thrive.
