Availability

Thank you for viewing my profile. I do currently have availability for working with new clients. I'm temporarily working online only. I work Monday to Friday during the day and also in the evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

About me and my therapy practice

Through active listening, gentle encouragement and reflection, I help my clients discover their own path to self compassion and emotional wellness. In my experience self exploration and self discovered learning can have significant influence and help give us the courage to alter old thought processes and patterns of behaving that no longer serve us well.

We will work at your own pace where the aim will be to properly reconnect with yourself and those around you. We will learn to unlock what you want from your life and give you the courage to change and become your true creative and connected self.

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic therapist/counsellor drawing from a number of psychotherapy disciplines. My 50 minute sessions are client led and tailor-made for each individual.

I facilitate a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to people over the age of 17. I have regular supervision with an accredited supervisor and my work is always safely and professionally contracted. I am passionate about what I do and believe once a client finds the right therapist a nurturing and supportive relationship can be developed and lasting positive change can happen.

If you would like to arrange for an initial assessment of your needs please drop me an email.

Practice description

I'm interested in a holistic approach to counselling and therapy. In our 'crazy-busy' lives we live so much in our heads and leave very little time to remember the importance of giving ourselves the gift of time; of appreciating and being in nature, nurturing our bodies, our spirits and our emotional selves and I believe we do this to our detriment. We often leave very little time to properly get to know ourselves and sometimes can begin to lose sight of who we really are and what we really want from our lives. So I'll be encouraging you to take time to feed and nurture your emotional self with compassion and loving care.

Coming into therapy can be a big step and choosing a therapy model/theory and a therapist who feels right for you might seem like a daunting task. As an integrative therapist I have studied a number of modalities. I often use Transactional Analysis (TA), some Psychodynamic principals, sometimes I lean into Internal Family Systems (IFS) or maybe some Jungian dreamwork might be appropriate. I'm not always a silent therapist but my sessions are always client led, you choose the focus.

Increasingly I find myself bring a 'compassionate enquiry' approach into my work, so I will basking to know a little about your upbringing, your family tree, your friendship tree. I might bring in a little psycho-education if it's helpful and I sometimes use simple guided meditations where appropriate. Though having a broad base in person centred theory I am very much led by my clients and what they feel comfortable with.

My first session

In the first instance I offer a free telephone conversation to assess what you might like to achieve and to explain how I work. If you decide to go ahead and book with me at the beginning of our first session we will run through a contract, this should only take about 10 minutes. My contract is designed for clarity, it’s important for you to understand what your sessions entail. Once that's done we can begin.
