About me and my therapy practice
As a qualified counsellor since 2013, I offer confidential face to face therapy as well as online or telephone sessions. You can initially call or email me in order to discuss your needs briefly and for me to advise you about therapy. You can decide if you would like to see me in my quiet, calm Nailsea based location or would prefer to meet me via Zoom, Facetime or telephone. I have extensive experience supporting young and old from all walks of life with many of life's struggles. I am a Person-Centred counsellor but also work integratively using such approaches as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt depending on your individual needs. As an accredited counsellor I have demonstrated a commitment to the BACP’s shared value of high standards which safeguard clients and ensures they have access to competent and ethical practitioners.
Practice description
My sessions are informal and relaxed and I hope you will find me warm and approachable. I am interested in your aims in coming for counselling as well as keen to help you work out what they might be if you don't already know.
My first session
In our first session we will work out together what you want to get from counselling - what has brought you here. I will try and put you at your ease by asking a few questions about you and your background or you may already come with your own thoughts ready to share. Sometimes your needs may change as counselling progresses and I will always check in with you if we are still heading in the right direction. The first meeting will give you a chance to find out about me too and if you feel I am right for you. We can decide how many sessions you might like to have and this is always flexible. I will explain to you how counselling is a confidential service and I work within the BACP's professional code of conduct.

About me and my therapy practice
Since qualifying as a counsellor in 2013, I have been passionate we should have the right Supervision to support us in our work as therapists. This applies if you are new to counselling training or have many years of experience. It’s crucial to have supervision that gives you what you need and this may change over time too so I am always keen to review your needs and check you feel supported. As a qualified supervisor I have experience with trainees as a University lecturer and in schools work. I have a busy private practice myself and have experience within the NHS mental health service. I aim to provide you with clinical supervision in which trust and the relationship are paramount
Fees are £45 for one hour, and £65 for an hour and a half. I can offer a brief, free initial meeting that enables you to decide if I’m the right supervisor for you - as I believe supervisees need to feel they can be honest and have confidence in their supervisor
I offer face to face sessions (within government covid guidelines), online or on the phone. I recommend you have supervision using a similar medium to the one you use for your own practice, whenever possible.
Do get in touch to arrange a first meeting for free, or to ask me any questions.
My first session
At our first session we will explore the balance you would like between restorative, normative and formative supervision. (Proctor, 1986). We may also discuss other supervision models and what your needs are. I provide a reflective and supportive space but can also challenge you and signpost you to further resources if you feel this would be helpful to your practice. I hope by the end of the session you will feel I provide a safe and confidential space.
