About me and my therapy practice
You may experience unexpected disruption, chronic conditions, major life upheaval, triggering of past experiences, bereavement, and any of these could lead to anxiety, anger, fear, phobias, or depression. Understanding could fall away, your support system could become unhelpful, anti-depressants may not be effective and your coping mechanisms may not work. You may feel overpowered by your circumstances and perhaps seek support and reinforcement as you experience distress. You may want your complex issues to be contained and get some tools and techniques to cope. Perhaps you may just like to confide in someone and share your experience.
I specialise in Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bereavement and Trauma (including PTSD). I have over 8 yrs. of Psychotherapy experience at NHS IPTT SLAM, NHS IAPT SLAM, NHS IAPT Harrow, MIND Enfield and Mind Wandsworth & Westminster. At NHS, I have extensive experience with secondary care complex clients as well as have offered couples therapy for NHS IAPT. I understand the above presenting issues from an Existential, Psychodynamic and CBT perspective. I am a UKCP accredited, BACP Registered Psychotherapist and a CfD (Counselling for Depression) accredited therapist. I am also a Leadership Coach and have 20 years of corporate experience hence understand career challenges, financial stressors, conflict, leadership and selling related dynamics.
Practice description
I have an integrative approach with a strong affinity to Existential philosophies, psychodynamic concepts, and cognitive psychology. This allows me to draw structure, content, and process from various therapeutic orientations. As we journey upon this path, we will jointly explore your construct of self, your core beliefs, your relatedness with the world, your thoughts, assumptions, conditionalities, your attachments, defences and coping. We will also jointly explore your boundaries of freedom, choices, possibilities, limitations, language interpretations, and your participation in life. The idea is to understand the unique way in which you perceive your experience as it unfolds to us in our sessions.
Towards this cause, I will bring necessary processes, philosophical cues, and psychological tools into our sessions. Understanding shifts, self-discovered insights, and a new way of being would be a few attainments for you through therapy. I believe this is an important aspect of change in order for you to lift your mood, state and agency.I am here to also render to you a non-instructive, non-judgmental, and supportive stance. Our relationship will be strictly confidential, and governed by UKCP, BACP and BABCP ethical frameworks.

My first session
• I do therapy sessions at Kenton, Harrow as well as London Bridge area however due ongoing Covid dynamics, we will have our sessions on Zoom/Skype.
• Our initiation session will be free as it will offer you a chance to check therapist’s compatibility with you and I can get a better grasp of your presenting issues.
• Once you consent for this, I will set up a zoom video call (or telephone call) and this would last for 50 min to an hour and subsequent to this you can decide whether you want to further engage with me in therapy.
Please visit our website https://headstride.com which explains my style of therapy, the various subcategories in mental health conditions we deal with and what psychotherapy/counselling entail.
