About me and my therapy practice
Are you considering counselling?
I am an experienced Integrative Therapist offering face-to face sessions at my Falmouth based practice, as well as online therapy for those who prefer to access counselling from their own home. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and also a Professional Member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
I offer a safe, supportive and confidential therapeutic space in which clients can explore and work through difficult issues and challenging life events, such as panic and anxiety, depression, bereavement & loss, drug and alcohol related issues, relationship difficulties and adapting to significant life transitions. I have a particular interest in working with Men's Issues, Growth and Wellbeing practices, Integrating Transformative Experience and working with vulnerability.
I am available to meet clients face-to-face at my Private Practice, a short distance from Falmouth town centre. Online Therapy, via an encrypted video conferencing platform is also available, and may be of particular use to those experiencing limited mobility, time restraints or travel difficulties.
If you have any queries for me, or would like to book an initial counselling session, please do contact me using the details provided. You can also find out more about me and my counselling services by using the link to my website or go to personcentredliving.uk.
I answer all email queries, please do check your junk/spam folder if you don’t see my reply.
Practice description
Our sessions will involve exploration of issues in a supportive way, through a humanistic talking therapy approach, and may include practices such as focusing (paying attention to bodily sensations), parts work (entering into dialogue with different aspects of the personality to reduce inner-conflicts), and exploring exercises for calming and soothing. We will reflect on and integrate new insights and changes as we go, undertaking occasional review sessions to assess progress, exploring what is or isn't working for you in therapy and adjusting our approach as necessary.
My first session
Our first meeting is a full working session and will involve an exploration of what has brought you to counselling, assessing any hopes or goals for the therapy you may have, and whether you have any preferences for ways in which you would like to work with me. As an integrative psychotherapist, I am able to blend a range of approaches according to your needs. Research shows that acknowledging and responding to client preferences significantly improves therapeutic outcomes, and we will have opportunity to explore what is (or isn't) working for you throughout our time of working together.
