About me and my therapy practice
The way I work is shaped by my experience working in both private practice and bereavement organisations over the last decade. I am a firm believer that the relationship between therapist and client is key to providing the best support. This means I value our connection and work hard from the first session to build this.
I have a significant amount of experience working with loss and bereavement and a great understanding of the challenges people struggle with while grieving.
In addition, my counselling expertise covers a broad spectrum, including:
• Family issues (past and present)
• Depression and Anxiety
• Relationship Issues (with partners, family, friends, or colleagues)
• Finding meaning and purpose in your life
• Low Self-esteem
. Loss and grief
. Bereavement by suicide and unexpected death
• Menopause-related issues
. Questions around identity and ageing
• Health-related Concerns
• Sexuality and Gender Identity
• Fertility Issues
• Mental Health Support
Practice description
I like to start with the intention of having a minimum of 6 sessions, followed by a review. Then we can decide whether to continue and the length of counselling is up to you of course.
If you would like an initial, brief talk by phone or by Zoom please get in touch. Just let me know by text or by email (in the contact section of this page) to arrange.
My first session
In the first session we just get to know each other. Together, we create a safe and confidential space where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings without judgment. The initial meeting is an opportunity for you to articulate your concerns, explore your goals for therapy, and discuss what led you to seek support. As your counsellor, I will actively listen, ask clarifying questions, and work collaboratively with you to gain a deeper understanding of your unique experiences. We will discuss the therapeutic process, establish a trusting rapport, and address any questions or concerns you may have. By the end of the first session, we aim to create a foundation for our therapeutic relationship, fostering a space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered on your journey towards growth and well-being.
