About me and my therapy practice
My name is Pam and I am an experienced person centred counsellor (BA Hons in Person Centred Counsellor with a Diploma in Adolescent and Schools Counselling), which gives me a well rounded and experienced approach across the ages and excellent theoretical knowledge and application of attachment and developmental trauma and it's impact on our brain, body and behaviour.
I work with adults, couples and adolescents.
My specialism is, PTSD, PTSd, PTS, developmental trauma and ADHd/Autism Spectrum disorder/Condition, Anxiety and Depression.
I use grounding and breathing practices to help regulate and calm the autonomic nervous system and reduce chronic stress activation. By regulating the nervous system and the body, you are more able to be present with your thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations, which means you are more likely to make meaningful and lasting progress with your therapy.
Grounding and breathing practices reduce the likelihood of you being triggered, disassociating or feeling overwhelmed during therapy, again this helps to increase the likelihood of therapy being successful.
I work in a non-judgemental, empathic and compassionate way, working with you to understand your thoughts and behaviours and how what has happened in the past, is causing you dysfunction and destress in your life and relationships, now.
I also work with sixth form and university students, providing support for anxiety and anxiety related issues.
If you would like to explore how we can work together, I offer a free 20 minute consultation over the telephone or Zoom so please get in touch.
