About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my page.
Hi, I am Lindsey. I am client-centred and trauma-informed. I aim to create an environment that fosters clearer connections with yourself and others.
People seek therapy for various reasons. You may feel stuck in anxiety, depression, or emotional numbness, perhaps related to unresolved experiences, including shame, guilt, or self-criticism.
Perhaps you feel you let yourself or others down, possibly tied to limiting expectations. Relationships may seem strained, marked by recurring conflicts or a sense of disconnection. Over time, conscious or unconscious coping strategies may have become barriers to living fully.
Whether meeting as a couple, individual, walk-and-talk, or remotely, I strive to offer an empathetic, genuine space that can help you understand your experiences, emotions, triggers, and patterns. We may also explore misplaced responsibility to help you release what no longer serves you, fostering conscious, grounded responses to life’s challenges.
I hope to meet you with curiosity and respect, and work with you to facilitate deeper understanding and meaningful change. Through this collaboration, you may uncover pathways that reclaim agency, cultivate self-compassion, and potentially restore authentic connections.
A little about me: I am a cis female of mixed European and North African heritage. I am interested in creative practice, hiking and travel. Professionally, I have over a decade of experience as a counsellor and am in my eighth year as a trainer, trauma aware,
Contact for supervision inquiries.
Practice description
Most of my practice is with individuals, though I also work with couples, young people, families, supervisees and groups.
Outdoors
If you have limited mobility, we can meet at a mutually agreed outdoor location or walk and talk along the wooded paths leading to the shoreline.
Creative
I facilitate creative expression through arts and sand tray. I am also happy to work with any further creative expressions you are interested in.
Experience
The counselling profession and I aligned in 2011. Since then, I have gained experience in charities, education, and private practice. I also teach and work as a supervisor. I am trauma-aware and EMDR trained, and I am presently a student of Psychological Trauma at the University of Chester.
I participate in professional development to revisit and learn more. I also strive to step out of my bubble to recognise what I may not be aware of. This includes, but is not limited to, understanding the impact of social deprivation, differing abilities, neo-conventional family structures, and discrimination based on race and ethnicity, as well as gender, sexuality, relationship diversity (GSRD), and neurodivergence.
Please let me know if any adjustments on Zoom or in the room are required; I am happy to accommodate.

My first session
The Initial Session
For individuals, I offer an initial session in-room (£30) or via phone or video link for free. For couples (£35), please contact me regarding any alternative programmes.
If sessions are scheduled in person, meeting in the room can be helpful as this will be our continued space. The room is bright yet cosy, located on the first floor of Hamble Memorial Hall. It offers a lift, parking, disabled toilets, and disabled parking. If you need adjustments, please let me know. Unfortunately, due to fire regulations, the room isn't accessible to wheelchair users at present.
Regardless of the communication platform, this is your chance to see if therapy with me is something you'd like to pursue and if your needs can be accommodated. If we continue, we will find a mutually agreeable time and day to meet, ideally on a regular basis.
Initial/assessment session
Face-to-face (initial) - £25 -£30 (30-minute)
Walk & Talk (initial) - £25-£30 (30-minute) in the room
Couples (initial) - £35 (60 minutes)
ZOOM - Phone Call (initial) - free (30 minutes)
Planning
There is no standard for the number of sessions; however, if you prefer brief, time-limited sessions, what you present should align with a realistic time frame, as there may be ethical implications. Also, we may want to reassess if, for instance, there is an opening of a 'Pandora's Box' which may threaten some of the veils that afforded protection, or you may find you want to spend more time unpacking what you have.
When it isn't wise to continue
If we have someone in common, or you are currently experiencing something that, in the present moment, could be harmful for you to explore. If there is violence towards the partner you are seeking counselling with, consider medical assistance. Or, if there are major limits to my understanding, it could be better to refer to a colleague more informed by lived experience or another profession.
