About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor, offering empathetic and confidential counselling to individual clients and couples around N1. I am also a qualified clinical Supervisor and adoption support counsellor.
Counselling can help you to understand your life and relationships, and draw upon your own resources to find a way through. Our work may be focussed and shorter term, or address long-standing issues over a longer time-frame. It is collaborative, arising out of an equal relationship between therapist and client: I do not use a couch, make diagnoses, judge you or tell you what to do. Sometimes we will look at past events to help us to understand the present. For more details of how I work, please see my website.
I am a Accredited member of the BACP, and fully comply with its Ethical Framework. I hold a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Mary Ward Centre, a Diploma in Relational Mindfulness from the Karuna Institute, a Certificate in Working with Couples and other Relationships, and a Certificate in Adoption Support Counselling. I have undertaken further training in integrative counselling/contemporary psychotherapy at the Minster Centre. All of my therapeutic work is underpinned and supported by a deep interest in mindfulness, ongoing personal supervision and further professional learning.
I became a counsellor after my own very positive experience of being a client in long-term therapy, which made lasting changes to how I saw and felt about my life.
I have many years of experience of working closely with people in difficult or distressing situations: before re-training as a counsellor, I had a long career as a barrister in private practice in London.

About me and my therapy practice
Please refer to my personal website for more details.
I am an Accredited Member of the BACP, and fully subscribe to its Ethical Framework. I offer supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors individuallly and in groups.
I am an experienced practitioner, who will work collaboratively with you to maintain and develop your ethical practice. My approach to supervision is integrative and relational, drawing upon my own clinical work over the past 10 years with diverse clients in a variety of settings. I am calm, curious, open, knowledgeable about different modalities, and will provide empathetic support and challenge for your work with clients. I encourage work with unconscious processes, to help identify what may be going on within the therapeutic and supervisory relationship. My original training used Clarkson’s five-strand model of the therapeutic relationship, and I have deepened my understanding with further study of humanistic, attachment and contemporary psychotherapy theory, together with mindfulness-based therapy, teaching and practice. My supervision practice is supported and under-pinned by integrative mindfulness-based supervision and my own personal mindfulness practice.
I currently supervise groups of counsellors at a community bereavement agency in North London, and individual counsellors in my private practice locations in Barnsbury and Chancery Lane. In my former career as a barrister, I also had extensive experience of supervising trainee and junior practitioners in their client work.
I charge £75 for a 50 minute supervision session for qualified therapists, and £65 for trainees. These generally take place in the late morning or afternoons on weekdays. I can also offer sessions on Zoom once our work has become established in person
