I currently have availability for new clients within my practice.  I work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 7pm (latest session being 6-7pm) and Friday mornings.  There is ample, free, on road parking.

About me and my therapy practice

I currently offer face-to-face, Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp video call and phone counselling where you can talk through your concerns with me. I offer you a safe place to talk where you can be the "real you". It can be daunting contacting a counsellor for the first time but I am here to listen, whatever problems you may have and however you're feeling. For example you may be experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, sadness or panic attacks, and have an underlying feeling that things aren't right. You may feel unhappy in your relationships with others. I am a qualified, BACP accredited, counsellor who offers private and confidential long or short term counselling in Bexhill. A good relationship between client and counsellor is fundamental for developing trust, confidence and growth.  I work in a humanistic way, using Person-Centred, TA and Gestalt therapies.  I also find some clients benefit from CBT tools and techniques as well as a Solution Focused approach which I also incorporate into my work.  One size does not fit all, so finding out what suits each client is of paramount importance to me.

I also offer couples therapy, where I look at problems in a relationship.  I ask both parties to be open and honest with me, as I am with them, so that we can look at changes that can be implemented and work out what could be causing conflict in the relationship.

Practice description

I offer humanistic counselling, as well as CBT and Solution Focused therapy, in a safe environment where you can develop a greater understanding about yourself with someone who listens, who is non-judgemental and who will encourage the working together aspect that counselling provides.  Our initial session involves finding out what is troubling you and looking at what you would like to work on in our sessions.  This may change as the work continues, as other problems can surface when we start to look at other difficulties in our lives.  It can be hard opening up about problems that are affecting us, however if we can share these with someone who is "alongside us" on this difficult journey, life can become more bearable.  As mentioned above, I am here to listen whatever you want to say, and confidentiality is very important in my work.

My first session

Initial sessions are charged at the same rate as all other sessions (currently £50).  I do not expect clients to complete an assessment, however I ask for the client to read and fill in a contract, in order to keep us both safe.

Availability

I currently have availability within my practice to work with new supervisees.  I work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 6pm (last session 6-7pm) and Friday mornings.   I offer face-to-face or online supervision via Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp video call and 'Phone.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified integrative Supervisor.  Supervision is a very important part of counselling.  I encourage my supervisees to be as open as possible with me about their work with clients.  This includes admitting mistakes (which we all make) and learning from them.  I also like to know about my supervisees - their way of working, how they feel about the clients they work with and what's going on in their personal lives.  All this may have an impact on sessions with clients.  I will also be open about how things can affect me and the impact of my feelings and thoughts on others.  I attend my own regular supervision where I can discuss my work in a safe place.

Practice description

I ask prospective supervisees to read and fill in a contract, in order to keep us all safe.  I work in a humanistic way, as well as incorporating CBT and Solution Focused Therapy into my approach.  I enjoy looking at a mixture of theories and in particular find Transactional Analysis techniques useful in my work.  I am an accredited member of the BACP and am subject to its ethical framework and complaints procedure.

My first session

The rate I charge for the initial session is the same as subsequent sessions.  As mentioned,  I ask the supervisee to read, fill in and sign a contract.  At the end of the initial session, we will decide if we are happy to work together and arrange future appointments.
