About me and my therapy practice
Hi my name is Sarah, and I thank you for considering whether I might be a good fit for you. I am an integrative relational and humanistic practitioner. It is my goal to help you explore your thoughts & feelings without judgment, so you can face the ups and downs of life with resilient mental health.
Sometimes our mental wellbeing can be under pressure, perhaps since childhood, and we feel the symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression to the point that it is interfering with our daily life. I can't make problems go away but I can help you to find it easier to cope with them and feel happier.
Therapy can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, improve you mental resilience, build stronger relationships, and develop coping skills for managing stress and difficult emotions.
For 25 years it has been my privilege that people have trusted me to help with their deepest hurts and biggest challenges.
I offer sessions on a short to long term contract, which we will agree initially then review as we go.
Together we will set an agenda and a goal to work towards.
I will listen, support and guide, holding hope for your positive outcome, until you're able to do that for yourself.
Please email or call to discuss a way forward.
I am fully insured & DBS checked
Practice description
In 1999 I completed a 4 year psychotherapy course in Transactional Analysis and then took a further two years training in humanistic approaches. Since then I have also qualified as a trauma risk practitioner within a Police Force and completed a degree in reflective therapeutic practice. I have also worked in the intensive environment of NHS talking therapies (formerly known as IAPT). I am also qualified to work specifically online.
I have worked with adults in the blue light sector (including those in high profile senior roles) and within a Cat B male prison, and latterly NHS Talking Therapies.
Alongside my private practice I have held senior leadership positions in all those sectors, including roles to transform services, offering personal and professional growth opportunities for senior staff.
It has been my pleasure to provide training in Transactional Analysis and trauma management consultancy to independent fostering organisations, and to have served as a Foster Parent.
There is a whole spectrum of different gender and sexual expressions and in my therapy and counselling services I offer a safe and confidential place to those who are seeking to understand and be understood.
My collective experience informs me that for some clients racial, cultural, and other diversity factors may be central to the work, but for others these experiences may be peripheral or less relevant or central to the work in therapy.
My focus will be on your individual personality, developed psychologically, socially, and culturally through human relationships and experiences.
You may suffer from anxiety or depression; recovering from trauma or dealing with grief; trying to understand the impact of childhood events that are still impacting your day to day living. Make a positive move for yourself and invest in a therapeutic relationship that can help alleviate your symptoms and give you hope for positive change.
My first session
Our first session will be an assessment of whether we are a good fit. Do I have the skills and experience to help you? Do you feel comfortable with me to proceed & want to commit to the process of therapy. If after 20 minutes it is clear we are not going to proceed together I will not charge for this time - otherwise the assessment will take 50 minutes & I will charge my sessional rate.

About me and my therapy practice
As a clinical supervisor, I bring a balanced blend of clinical expertise, mentorship, and a deep commitment to ethical and professional standards. My supervision style is grounded in fostering a safe, supportive, and growth-oriented environment where supervisees can develop both clinically and personally. I prioritize building strong, trusting relationships, where open communication and reflective practice are encouraged and valued.
One of my strengths lies in my ability to adapt my supervision approach to meet the unique developmental needs of each supervisee. Whether they are just beginning their clinical journey or working toward advanced proficiency, I tailor my guidance to support their evolving skill set, using evidence-based models of supervision. I emphasize critical thinking, self-awareness, and cultural humility, ensuring that supervisees become not only technically competent but also ethically grounded and client-centred practitioners.
I am deeply committed to integrating theory with practice. I help supervisees connect clinical interventions with conceptual frameworks, ensuring their work is intentional and informed. I also place a strong focus on case conceptualization, documentation, risk assessment, and managing countertransference—critical areas for clinical development and client safety.
I strive to provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback that fosters growth without discouragement. Supervision as a collaborative and reciprocal process. My goal is to empower supervisees to develop their professional identities and confidence, while also holding them accountable to high standards of care.
Lastly, I model lifelong learning, integrity, and self-care—core values essential to sustainable clinical work. Through my supervision, I aim to develop clinicians who are not only competent but also compassionate, resilient, and prepared to serve diverse populations with sensitivity and skill.
Practice description
I deliver transformative humanistic counselling & supervision plus leadership coaching & development plus consulting services. I design and deliver tailored training programs in Transactional Analysis and trauma management for diverse professional groups. Offer comprehensive counselling and psychotherapy services, predominantly through online and telephone platforms, catering to a broad client base including high-profile individuals and those in the blue light sector.
Accumulated 25 years of experience in counselling & supervision demonstrating sustained commitment to client well-being. Completed extensive education in psychotherapy, including a 4-year course in Transactional Analysis and additional training in humanistic approaches. Qualified as a trauma risk practitioner within a Police Force, enhancing service delivery and support for those in critical roles. Managed senior leadership roles across various sectors, driving service transformation and fostering staff advancement. Contributed expertise to independent fostering organisations through specialized training and consultancy services. In order to further develop my skills I completed a degree in reflective practice & updated my online skills by taking further qualifications to compliment my practice.
My first session
In a first clinical supervision session, the primary goal is to establish a foundation for a supportive and productive supervisory relationship. This initial meeting typically begins with introductions, where we will discuss our professional backgrounds, areas of expertise, and expectations. It's an opportunity for both parties to begin building rapport and mutual trust.
As the supervisor I will often explain the purpose, structure, and goals of clinical supervision. This includes outlining how sessions will be conducted, confidentiality boundaries, record-keeping practices, and the frequency and duration of meetings. Ethical considerations, such as the limits of confidentiality (e.g., if there's risk of harm to the client or supervisee), are also clarified.
The supervisee is encouraged to share their learning goals, areas where they feel confident, and areas where they seek growth or support. This may include discussing clinical caseloads, particular challenges with clients, or concerns about therapeutic techniques. We will discuss your theoretical orientation, previous supervision experiences, and professional development needs.
A key part of the session is the negotiation of a supervision contract or agreement. This document outlines roles, responsibilities, boundaries, and mutual expectations. It ensures clarity and sets a collaborative tone moving forward.
Finally, the first session may touch on initial case discussions or reflective practices, though in a lighter capacity. This helps set the stage for future sessions while maintaining a supportive environment.
Overall, the first supervision session is largely about relationship-building, setting expectations, and establishing a safe space for growth, learning, and accountability in clinical practice.
